in spite of the fact that Ishmael was conceived because of the faithlessness of Abraham and Sarah.\u3000\u30cf\u30ac\u30eb\u3092\u305d\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u3092\u795d\u798f\u3059\u308b\u795e\u69d8\u306e\u6190\u308c\u307f\u3068\u6075\u307f\u3092\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
Yet, it is true that the issues between Sarah and Hagar were then transferred on to the two sons that shared the same father in Abraham.\u3000 \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u30b5\u30e9\u3068\u30cf\u30ac\u30eb\u306e\u9593\u306e\u554f\u984c\u304c\u3001\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u3068\u3044\u3046\u540c\u3058\u7236\u89aa\u3092\u6301\u3064\u4e8c\u4eba\u306e\u606f\u5b50\u306b\u5f15\u304d\u7d99\u304c\u308c\u305f\u306e\u306f\u4e8b\u5b9f\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
For as God promised, when Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, Isaac was born to them in their old age.\u3000 \u795e\u69d8\u304c\u7d04\u675f\u3055\u308c\u305f\u3068\u304a\u308a\u3001\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u304c\uff11\uff10\uff10\u6b73\u3001\u30b5\u30e9\u304c\uff19\uff10\u6b73\u306e\u6642\u3001\u9ad8\u9f62\u306e\u4e8c\u4eba\u306e\u9593\u306b\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u304c\u751f\u307e\u308c\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
And as Pastor Okura alluded to last Sunday, those issues still persist till today between the Arabs who are Ishmael\u2019s descendants and the Jews who are Isaac\u2019s descendants. \u305d\u3057\u3066\u3001\u5148\u9031\u306e\u65e5\u66dc\u65e5\u306b\u5927\u5009\u7267\u5e2b\u304c\u8a00\u53ca\u3057\u305f\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u30a4\u30b7\u30e5\u30de\u30a8\u30eb\u306e\u5b50\u5b6b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u30a2\u30e9\u30d6\u4eba\u3068\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306e\u5b50\u5b6b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u306e\u9593\u306b\u306f\u3001\u4eca\u65e5\u307e\u3067\u554f\u984c\u304c\u7d9a\u3044\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
For much of the international news headlines of today can be traced back to the conflict between the descendants of these two sons of Abraham.\u3000 \u4eca\u65e5\u306e\u56fd\u969b\u7684\u306a\u30cb\u30e5\u30fc\u30b9\u306e\u898b\u51fa\u3057\u306e\u591a\u304f\u306f\u3001\u3053\u306e\u4e8c\u4eba\u306e\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306e\u606f\u5b50\u306e\u5b50\u5b6b\u306e\u9593\u306e\u4e89\u3044\u306b\u307e\u3067\u9061\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u308b\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
However, that is not the focus of my message for this morning.\u3000 \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u4eca\u671d\u306e\u79c1\u306e\u30e1\u30c3\u30bb\u30fc\u30b8\u306e\u7126\u70b9\u306f\u305d\u3053\u3067\u306f\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n
Today, I would like to focus in on Isaac, and talk about three things concerning him, \u4eca\u65e5\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306b\u7126\u70b9\u3092\u5f53\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306b\u95a2\u3059\u308b\uff13\u3064\u306e\u4e8b\u67c4\u3068\u3001<\/p>\n
and how those three things apply also to us who place our faith in Jesus Christ.\u3000\u305d\u306e\uff13\u3064\u306e\u4e8b\u67c4\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u306b\u4fe1\u4ef0\u3092\u7f6e\u304f\u79c1\u9054\u306b\u3082\u3069\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u5f53\u3066\u306f\u307e\u308b\u304b\u3092\u304a\u8a71\u3057\u3057\u305f\u3044\u3068\u601d\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
First of all, Isaac was a child of faith.\u3000 \u307e\u305a\u3001\u7b2c\u4e00\u306b\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306f\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u5b50\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
As I have already talked about Abraham a few Sundays ago, he is known as the Father of Faith.\u3000 \u6570\u56de\u524d\u306e\u65e5\u66dc\u65e5\u306b\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u304a\u8a71\u3057\u3057\u305f\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u5f7c\u306f\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u7236\u3068\u3057\u3066\u77e5\u3089\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
This is because it was his faith in God that \u201cmoved\u201d him to action to begin with.\u3000 \u305d\u308c\u306f\u3001\u305d\u3082\u305d\u3082\u5f7c\u3092\u884c\u52d5\u306b\u300c\u52d5\u304b\u3057\u305f\u300d\u306e\u304c\u795e\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u3060\u3063\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
Abraham left his family and homeland because of God\u2019s choosing of him and saying to him the following:\u3000 \u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u304c\u5bb6\u65cf\u3068\u6545\u90f7\u3092\u96e2\u308c\u305f\u306e\u306f\u3001\u795e\u304c\u5f7c\u3092\u9078\u3073\u3001\u6b21\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u5f7c\u306b\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\uff1a<\/p>\n
Genesis 12:1-3\uff08\u5275\u4e16\u8a18\uff11\uff12\u7ae0\uff11\u7bc0\uff0d\uff13\u7bc0\uff09\u201cGo forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father\u2019s house, to the land which I will show you; 2\u00a0<\/sup>and\u00a0I will make you a great nation, and\u00a0I will bless you, and make your name great; and so\u00a0you shall be a blessing; 3\u00a0<\/sup>and\u00a0I will bless those who bless you, and the one who\u00a0curses you I will\u00a0curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.\u201d 1<\/sup>\u6642\u306b\u4e3b\u306f\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30e0\u306b\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306f\u56fd\u3092\u51fa\u3066\u3001\u89aa\u65cf\u306b\u5225\u308c\u3001\u7236\u306e\u5bb6\u3092\u96e2\u308c\u3001\u308f\u305f\u3057\u304c\u793a\u3059\u5730\u306b\u884c\u304d\u306a\u3055\u3044\u30022<\/sup>\u308f\u305f\u3057\u306f\u3042\u306a\u305f\u3092\u5927\u3044\u306a\u308b\u56fd\u6c11\u3068\u3057\u3001\u3042\u306a\u305f\u3092\u795d\u798f\u3057\u3001\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306e\u540d\u3092\u5927\u304d\u304f\u3057\u3088\u3046\u3002\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306f\u795d\u798f\u306e\u57fa\u3068\u306a\u308b\u3067\u3042\u308d\u3046\u30023<\/sup>\u3042\u306a\u305f\u3092\u795d\u798f\u3059\u308b\u8005\u3092\u308f\u305f\u3057\u306f\u795d\u798f\u3057\u3001\u3042\u306a\u305f\u3092\u306e\u308d\u3046\u8005\u3092\u308f\u305f\u3057\u306f\u306e\u308d\u3046\u3002\u5730\u306e\u3059\u3079\u3066\u306e\u3084\u304b\u3089\u306f\u3001\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u795d\u798f\u3055\u308c\u308b\u300d\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\nFurthermore, it was Abraham\u2019s faith in God\u2019s promise to him of \u201cone who will come from your own body, he shall be your heir\u201d (Genesis 15:4), \u3055\u3089\u306b\u5275\u4e16\u8a18\uff11\uff16\u7ae0\u3067\u3001\u30cf\u30ac\u30eb\u304c\u30b5\u30e9\u304b\u3089\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306b\u6e21\u3055\u308c\u308b\u5834\u9762\u3067\u898b\u3089\u308c\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306a\u6027\u6025\u306a\u884c\u52d5\u3092\u5b9f\u969b\u306b\u5f15\u304d\u8d77\u3053\u3057\u305f\u306e\u306f\u3001<\/p>\n
that actually led to the hasty actions which we have seen in Genesis 16 with Hagar being given to Abraham by Sarah. \u300c\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306e\u8eab\u304b\u3089\u51fa\u308b\u8005\u304c\u3042\u3068\u3064\u304e\u3068\u306a\u308b\u3079\u304d\u3067\u3059\u300d<\/strong>\uff08\u5275\u4e16\u8a18\uff11\uff15\u7ae0\uff14\u7bc0\uff09\u3068\u3044\u3046\u795e\u69d8\u306e\u7d04\u675f\u3092\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u304c\u4fe1\u3058\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\nThe fact that Abraham believed God\u2019s promise regarding this matter is evident by what it says in Genesis 15:5-6. \u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u304c\u3053\u306e\u4ef6\u306b\u95a2\u3059\u308b\u795e\u69d8\u306e\u7d04\u675f\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u305f\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3001\u5275\u4e16\u8a18\uff11\uff15\u7ae0\uff15\u7bc0\u304b\u3089\uff16\u7bc0\u306b\u66f8\u304b\u308c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304b\u3089\u3082\u660e\u3089\u304b\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
Genesis 15:5-6\uff08\u5275\u4e16\u8a18\uff11\uff15\u7ae0\uff15\u7bc0\uff0d\uff16\u7bc0\uff095\u00a0<\/sup>And He took him outside and said, \u201cNow look toward the heavens, and\u00a0count the stars, if you are able to count them.\u201d And He said to him, \u201cSo shall your\u00a0descendants be.\u201d\u00a06\u00a0<\/sup>Then he believed in the\u00a0Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. 5<\/sup>\u305d\u3057\u3066\u4e3b\u306f\u5f7c\u3092\u5916\u306b\u9023\u308c\u51fa\u3057\u3066\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u305f\u3001\u300c\u5929\u3092\u4ef0\u3044\u3067\u3001\u661f\u3092\u6570\u3048\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u308b\u306a\u3089\u3001\u6570\u3048\u3066\u307f\u306a\u3055\u3044\u300d\u3002\u307e\u305f\u5f7c\u306b\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306e\u5b50\u5b6b\u306f\u3042\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308b\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u300d\u30026<\/sup>\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30e0\u306f\u4e3b\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u305f\u3002\u4e3b\u306f\u3053\u308c\u3092\u5f7c\u306e\u7fa9\u3068\u8a8d\u3081\u3089\u308c\u305f\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\nYes, we have seen plenty of Abraham\u2019s faithless acts over the past few weeks, \u3053\u306e\u6570\u9031\u9593\u3001\u79c1\u9054\u306f\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306b\u6b20\u3051\u308b\u884c\u70ba\u3092\u305f\u304f\u3055\u3093\u898b\u3066\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u304c\u3001<\/p>\n
but it still does not change the fact that he is referred to as the Father of Faith.\u3000\u305d\u308c\u3067\u3082\u5f7c\u304c\u300c\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u7236\u300d\u3068\u547c\u3070\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306b\u5909\u308f\u308a\u306f\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n
The reason for this, and I have mentioned this many times already, is because Abraham\u2019s faith in God continued to grow throughout his lifetime.\u3000 \u305d\u306e\u7406\u7531\u306f\u3001\u3059\u3067\u306b\u4f55\u5ea6\u3082\u8ff0\u3079\u305f\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\u304c\u3001\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306e\u795e\u69d8\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u304c\u3001\u305d\u306e\u751f\u6daf\u3092\u901a\u3057\u3066\u6210\u9577\u3057\u7d9a\u3051\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
His faith in God was not stagnant, and therefore His walk with God was not static.\u3000 \u5f7c\u306e\u795e\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306f\u505c\u6ede\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306a\u304f\u3001\u3057\u305f\u304c\u3063\u3066\u795e\u3068\u306e\u6b69\u307f\u3082\u9759\u7684\u306a\u3082\u306e\u3067\u306f\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
In summary of Abraham and Sarah\u2019s faith, the author of the book of Hebrews in the New Testament wrote the following as it relates particularly to their child Isaac:\u3000 \u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u3068\u30b5\u30e9\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u3092\u8981\u7d04\u3059\u308b\u3068\u3001\u65b0\u7d04\u8056\u66f8\u306e\u30d8\u30d6\u30eb\u4eba\u3078\u306e\u624b\u7d19\u306e\u8457\u8005\u306f\u3001\u7279\u306b\u5f7c\u3089\u306e\u5b50\u4f9b\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306b\u95a2\u9023\u3057\u3066\u6b21\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u66f8\u3044\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\uff1a<\/p>\n

Here, we see the truth concerning Sarah and Abraham\u2019s faith in God in providing them with a son born to the two of them.\u3000\u3053\u3053\u306b\u306f\u3001\u30b5\u30e9\u3068\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u304c\u4e8c\u4eba\u306e\u9593\u306b\u7537\u306e\u5b50\u3092\u6388\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3068\u3044\u3046\u795e\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306b\u95a2\u3059\u308b\u771f\u5b9f\u304c\u793a\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
Yes, it took 25 years before the fulfillment of God\u2019s promise to them, and they acted faithlessly along the way.\u3000 \u78ba\u304b\u306b\u795e\u306e\u7d04\u675f\u304c\u6210\u5c31\u3059\u308b\u307e\u3067\u306b\u306f\uff12\uff15\u5e74\u306e\u6b73\u6708\u3092\u8981\u3057\u3001\u305d\u306e\u904e\u7a0b\u3067\u5f7c\u3089\u306f\u4e0d\u8aa0\u5b9f\u306a\u884c\u52d5\u3092\u3068\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
However, it still does not negate the fact that ultimately it was by their faith \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u305d\u308c\u3067\u3082\u306a\u304a\u3001\u6700\u7d42\u7684\u306b\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u304c\u5f7c\u3089\u306e\u3082\u3068\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u305f\u306e\u306f\u3001<\/p>\n
in God\u2019s faithfulness to His promise that Isaac was born to them.\u3000\u795e\u69d8\u306e\u7d04\u675f\u306b\u5bfe\u3059\u308b\u771f\u5b9f\u3055\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u308b\u5f7c\u3089\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306b\u3088\u308b\u3082\u306e\u3060\u3068\u3044\u3046\u4e8b\u5b9f\u3092\u5426\u5b9a\u3059\u308b\u3082\u306e\u3067\u306f\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n
And furthermore, when Abraham\u2019s faith in God was tested as it related to Isaac \u305d\u3057\u3066\u3055\u3089\u306b\u3001\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u304c\u5f7c\u306e\u5b50\u5b6b\u306e\u547c\u3073\u540d\u3068\u306a\u308b\u3082\u306e\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306b\u95a2\u9023\u3057\u3066\u3001<\/p>\n

There, we read of how Abraham\u2019s chief servant was sent to Abraham\u2019s relatives to bring back a wife for Isaac.\u3000 \u305d\u3053\u306b\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306e\u305f\u3081\u306b\u59bb\u3092\u9023\u308c\u623b\u3063\u3066\u304f\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u3001\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306e\u89aa\u985e\u306e\u3082\u3068\u306b\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306e\u50d5\u304c\u9063\u308f\u3055\u308c\u305f\u7d4c\u7def\u304c\u66f8\u304b\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

The name Isaac literally means \u201claughter\u201d.\u3000 \u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u3068\u3044\u3046\u540d\u524d\u306f\u6587\u5b57\u901a\u308a\u300c\u7b11\u3044\u300d\u3092\u610f\u5473\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
The name is derived from the Hebrew name Yitzhak, which means \u201che will laugh\u201d or \u201che will rejoice\u201d.\u3000 \u3053\u306e\u540d\u524d\u306f\u30d8\u30d6\u30e9\u30a4\u8a9e\u306e\u30a4\u30c4\u30cf\u30af\u3068\u3044\u3046\u540d\u524d\u306b\u7531\u6765\u3057\u300c\u5f7c\u306f\u7b11\u3046\u300d\u300c\u5f7c\u306f\u559c\u3076\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3046\u610f\u5473\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

As I said earlier, I wanted to talk about three things concerning Isaac, \u5148\u307b\u3069\u7533\u3057\u4e0a\u3052\u305f\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306b\u95a2\u3059\u308b\uff13\u3064\u306e\u4e8b\u67c4\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u304a\u8a71\u3057\u3057\u305f\u3044\u3068\u601d\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
and how those three things apply also to us who place our faith in Jesus Christ.\u305d\u3057\u3066\u3001\u305d\u306e\uff13\u3064\u306e\u4e8b\u67c4\u304c\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u306b\u4fe1\u4ef0\u3092\u7f6e\u304f\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u306b\u3082\u5f53\u3066\u306f\u307e\u308b\u3068\u3044\u3046\u3053\u3068\u3092\u304a\u8a71\u3057\u3057\u305f\u3044\u3068\u601d\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

And the wonderful thing for us to know today is that through faith in Jesus Christ, we too as God\u2019s children are children of faith, promise, and laughter. \u305d\u3057\u3066\u4eca\u65e5\u3001\u79c1\u9054\u304c\u77e5\u308b\u3079\u304d\u7d20\u6674\u3089\u3057\u3044\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u308b\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u3001\u795e\u306e\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u308b\u79c1\u9054\u3082\u307e\u305f\u3001\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u5b50\u3001\u7d04\u675f\u306e\u5b50\u3001\u7b11\u3044\u306e\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3068\u3044\u3046\u3053\u3068\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
So as Christians, like Isaac, we are children of faith. \u3067\u3059\u304b\u3089\u3001\u30af\u30ea\u30b9\u30c1\u30e3\u30f3\u3068\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30b5\u30af\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u79c1\u9054\u306f\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u5b50\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

Thus, in this sense, we are truly children of faith. \u3053\u306e\u610f\u5473\u3067\u3001\u79c1\u9054\u306f\u307e\u3055\u306b\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u5b50\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
And it is truly those who follow in the footsteps of Abraham, the Father of Faith, that are children of faith. \u305d\u3057\u3066\u3001\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u7236\u3067\u3042\u308b\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u306e\u8db3\u8de1\u3092\u305f\u3069\u308b\u8005\u3053\u305d\u3001\u307e\u3055\u306b\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306e\u5b50\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

We are also children of promise. \u3000\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u306f\u307e\u305f\u3001\u7d04\u675f\u306e\u5b50\u3067\u3082\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
The fact that the Holy Spirit has been given to us is proof that we are children of promise. \u8056\u970a\u304c\u79c1\u9054\u306b\u4e0e\u3048\u3089\u308c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3001\u79c1\u9054\u304c\u7d04\u675f\u306e\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306e\u8a3c\u62e0\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
