Yes, indeed, we can continually move forward with Jesus, knowing that He is continually doing good work in our lives until we enter into His presence for all eternity. \u78ba\u304b\u306b\u3001\u6c38\u9060\u306b\u5fa1\u524d\u306b\u81f3\u308b\u305d\u306e\u65e5\u307e\u3067\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u7d76\u3048\u305a\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u306e\u4eba\u751f\u306b\u826f\u3044\u308f\u3056\u3092\u306a\u3055\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u77e5\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u304b\u3089\u3001\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3068\u5171\u306b\u7d76\u3048\u305a\u524d\u9032\u3057\u7d9a\u3051\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
In Japan, this time of the year is filled with gatherings called \u201cBonen-kai\u201d. \u65e5\u672c\u3067\u306f\u3001\u3053\u306e\u6642\u671f\u306f\u300c\u5fd8\u5e74\u4f1a\u300d\u3068\u547c\u3070\u308c\u308b\u96c6\u307e\u308a\u3067\u3044\u3063\u3071\u3044\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
\u201cBonen-kai\u201d literally means \u201cForgetting the year party\u201d. \u300c\u5fd8\u5e74\u4f1a\u300d\u306f\u6587\u5b57\u901a\u308a\u300c\u5e74\u3092\u5fd8\u308c\u308b\u4f1a\u300d\u3092\u610f\u5473\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
It is often accompanied by a lot of alcohol. \u591a\u304f\u306e\u5834\u5408\u3001\u5927\u91cf\u306e\u30a2\u30eb\u30b3\u30fc\u30eb\u3092\u4f34\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
I guess for many people in Japan, rather than reflecting back with gratitude for what was good during the past year, they would rather try to forget the year altogether. \u304a\u305d\u3089\u304f\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u591a\u304f\u306e\u4eba\u3005\u306b\u3068\u3063\u3066\u3001\u904e\u53bb1\u5e74\u306e\u826f\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3053\u3068\u306b\u611f\u8b1d\u3057\u3066\u632f\u308a\u8fd4\u308b\u3088\u308a\u3082\u3001\u3080\u3057\u308d\u305d\u306e\u5e74\u5168\u4f53\u3092\u5fd8\u308c\u305f\u3044\u3068\u601d\u3046\u306e\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n
I hope that is not the case for us as we are gathering here to worship God together on this last Sunday of this year. \u4eca\u5e74\u6700\u5f8c\u306e\u65e5\u66dc\u65e5\u306b\u3001\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u304c\u3053\u3053\u306b\u96c6\u3044\u5171\u306b\u795e\u69d8\u3092\u793c\u62dd\u3059\u308b\u306b\u3042\u305f\u308a\u3001\u305d\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306a\u3053\u3068\u304c\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u306b\u306f\u8d77\u3053\u3089\u306a\u3044\u3053\u3068\u3092\u9858\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
Reflection is good, and I am glad that within the Christian community particularly here in the U.S., \u601d\u3044\u3081\u3050\u3089\u3059\u3053\u3068\u306f\u826f\u3044\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\u3002\u7279\u306b\u3053\u3053\u30a2\u30e1\u30ea\u30ab\u3067\u306f\u3001\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u6559\u30b3\u30df\u30e5\u30cb\u30c6\u30a3\u30fc\u306b\u304a\u3044\u3066\u3001<\/p>\n
we get to begin that reflection already in November with Thanksgiving Day. \u30b5\u30f3\u30af\u30b9\u30ae\u30d3\u30f3\u30b0\u306e\u65e5\u304c\u3042\u308b11\u6708\u304b\u3089\u65e2\u306b\u305d\u306e\u601d\u3044\u3081\u3050\u3089\u3057\u3092\u59cb\u3081\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u5b09\u3057\u304f\u601d\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

In this matter, it is probably good for us to learn from the apostle Paul of how he viewed continually moving forward with Jesus. \u3053\u306e\u4ef6\u306b\u95a2\u3057\u3066\u306f\u3001\u4f7f\u5f92\u30d1\u30a6\u30ed\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3068\u5171\u306b\u7d76\u3048\u305a\u524d\u9032\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u3069\u3046\u6349\u3048\u3066\u3044\u305f\u304b\u3001\u79c1\u305f\u3061\u3082\u5f7c\u304b\u3089\u5b66\u3076\u3079\u304d\u70b9\u304c\u3042\u308b\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n
For it is quite obvious that his confidence that Jesus who began a good work in the Philippian Christians will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus was based on\u306a\u305c\u306a\u3089\u3001\u30d4\u30ea\u30d4\u306e\u30af\u30ea\u30b9\u30c1\u30e3\u30f3\u305f\u3061\u306e\u4e2d\u306b\u826f\u3044\u308f\u3056\u3092\u59cb\u3081\u3089\u308c\u305f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u3001\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u30fb\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u306e\u65e5\u307e\u3067\u3001\u305d\u308c\u3092\u5b8c\u6210\u3055\u305b\u3066\u304f\u3060\u3055\u308b\u3068\u3044\u3046\u5f7c\u306e\u78ba\u4fe1\u306f\u3001<\/p>\n

he did made him a success in the effort to please God by works.\u884c\u3044\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u795e\u69d8\u3092\u559c\u3070\u305b\u3088\u3046\u3068\u3059\u308b\u52aa\u529b\u306b\u304a\u3044\u3066\u81ea\u5206\u3092\u6210\u529f\u8005\u306b\u3059\u308b\u3082\u306e\u3060\u3068\u8003\u3048\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
However, he had come to realize that absolutely nothing apart from Jesus Christ\u2019s work on the cross was of any value in his gaining God\u2019s acceptance. \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u6b21\u7b2c\u306b\u5f7c\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u306e\u5341\u5b57\u67b6\u4e0a\u306e\u5fa1\u696d\u4ee5\u5916\u306b\u3001\u795e\u69d8\u306b\u53d7\u3051\u5165\u308c\u3089\u308c\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u3001\u4fa1\u5024\u3042\u308b\u3082\u306e\u306f\u306a\u3044\u306e\u3060\u3068\u609f\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
Thus, Paul put his full confidence in a living relationship with Jesus Christ. \u305d\u308c\u3086\u3048\u306b\u30d1\u30a6\u30ed\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3068\u306e\u751f\u304d\u305f\u95a2\u4fc2\u306b\u5168\u5e45\u306e\u4fe1\u983c\u3092\u7f6e\u3044\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
He joyfully accepted the loss of all other things for the greatness of this personal relationship. \u5f7c\u306f\u3053\u306e\u500b\u4eba\u7684\u306a\u95a2\u4fc2\u306e\u5049\u5927\u3055\u306e\u305f\u3081\u306b\u3001\u4ed6\u306e\u3059\u3079\u3066\u306e\u3082\u306e\u3092\u559c\u3093\u3067\u5931\u3046\u3053\u3068\u3092\u53d7\u3051\u5165\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
Paul considered all other things beside his relationship with Christ as being rubbish, or literally dung, that is worthless and offensive. \u30d1\u30a6\u30ed\u306f\u3001\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3068\u306e\u95a2\u4fc2\u4ee5\u5916\u306e\u3042\u3089\u3086\u308b\u3082\u306e\u3092\u3001\u6587\u5b57\u901a\u308a\u7cde\u571f\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306a\u3001\u3064\u307e\u308a\u7121\u4fa1\u5024\u3067\u4e0d\u5feb\u306a\u30b4\u30df\u3060\u3068\u8003\u3048\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n
He did not trust in his own righteousness but lived trusting in God\u2019s righteousness given through faith in Christ. \u5f7c\u306f\u81ea\u5206\u306e\u7fa9\u306b\u4fe1\u983c\u305b\u305a\u3001\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u3092\u901a\u3057\u3066\u4e0e\u3048\u3089\u308c\u308b\u795e\u69d8\u306e\u7fa9\u3092\u4fe1\u983c\u3057\u3066\u751f\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n
