With God All Things Are Possible<br \/>\n\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\uff1a\u795e\u306b\u306f\u3059\u3079\u3066\u306e\u3053\u3068\u304c\u53ef\u80fd\u3067\u3042\u308b<br \/>\nJanuary 25, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Today, we will look at a person named Nicodemus.\u3000 \u4eca\u65e5\u306f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u3068\u3044\u3046\u4eba\u7269\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u898b\u3066\u3044\u304d\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n<p>We have looked at quite a few of the apostles of Jesus, but today, we will look at Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee.\u3000 \u3053\u308c\u307e\u3067\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u4f7f\u5f92\u305f\u3061\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u6570\u591a\u304f\u898b\u3066\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u304c\u3001\u672c\u65e5\u306f\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u306e\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u7126\u70b9\u3092\u5f53\u3066\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The best way to study Nicodemus is to see his interactions with Jesus, which can be seen in the third chapter of the Gospel of John.\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u3092\u5b66\u3076\u6700\u826f\u306e\u65b9\u6cd5\u306f\u3001\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306b\u3088\u308b\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\u7b2c\uff13\u7ae0\u306b\u8a18\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3068\u306e\u3084\u308a\u53d6\u308a\u3092\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>However, before looking at Nicodemus\u2019 encounter with Jesus, let\u2019s look at what set up this meeting.\u3000 \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u3068\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u51fa\u4f1a\u3044\u3092\u8003\u5bdf\u3059\u308b\u524d\u306b\u3001\u3053\u306e\u51fa\u4f1a\u3044\u306e\u80cc\u666f\u3068\u306a\u3063\u305f\u51fa\u6765\u4e8b\u3092\u898b\u3066\u307f\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n<p>What caused this meeting to take place?\u3000 \u3053\u306e\u51fa\u4f1a\u3044\u306f\u306a\u305c\u8d77\u3053\u3063\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u304b\uff1f<\/p>\n<p>In order to answer that question, we must look at what happened beforehand, which can be found in John 2:23-25.\u3000 \u305d\u306e\u7591\u554f\u306b\u7b54\u3048\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u306f\u3001\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd2\u7ae023-25\u7bc0\u306b\u8a18\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3001\u305d\u306e\u524d\u306b\u8d77\u3053\u3063\u305f\u51fa\u6765\u4e8b\u3092\u63a2\u308b\u5fc5\u8981\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 2:23-25\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff12\u7ae0\uff12\uff13\uff5e\uff12\uff15\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>Now when He was in Jerusalem at\u00a0the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name,\u00a0observing His signs which He was doing.\u00a0<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for\u00a0He knew all men,\u00a0<sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man,\u00a0for He Himself knew what was in man. <sup>23<\/sup>\u904e\u8d8a\u306e\u796d\u306e\u9593\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u304c\u30a8\u30eb\u30b5\u30ec\u30e0\u306b\u6ede\u5728\u3057\u3066\u304a\u3089\u308c\u305f\u3068\u304d\u3001\u591a\u304f\u306e\u4eba\u3005\u306f\u3001\u305d\u306e\u884c\u308f\u308c\u305f\u3057\u308b\u3057\u3092\u898b\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u306e\u540d\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u305f\u3002<sup>24<\/sup>\u3057\u304b\u3057\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u3054\u81ea\u8eab\u306f\u3001\u5f7c\u3089\u306b\u81ea\u5206\u3092\u304a\u4efb\u305b\u306b\u306a\u3089\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3002\u305d\u308c\u306f\u3001\u3059\u3079\u3066\u306e\u4eba\u3092\u77e5\u3063\u3066\u304a\u3089\u308c\u3001<sup>25<\/sup>\u307e\u305f\u4eba\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u3042\u304b\u3057\u3059\u308b\u8005\u3092\u3001\u5fc5\u8981\u3068\u3055\u308c\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3002\u305d\u308c\u306f\u3001\u3054\u81ea\u8eab\u4eba\u306e\u5fc3\u306e\u4e2d\u306b\u3042\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u77e5\u3063\u3066\u304a\u3089\u308c\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here, we see that Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, \u3053\u3053\u304b\u3089\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u904e\u8d8a\u306e\u796d\u308a\u306e\u6642\u671f\u306b\u30a8\u30eb\u30b5\u30ec\u30e0\u306b\u304a\u3089\u308c\u305f\u3053\u3068\u304c\u308f\u304b\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>which was a time when most Jews would have been there.\u3000\u3053\u306e\u6642\u671f\u306b\u306f\u3001\u307b\u3068\u3093\u3069\u306e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u304c\u30a8\u30eb\u30b5\u30ec\u30e0\u306b\u96c6\u307e\u3063\u3066\u3044\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Thus, it was in the presence of a great multitude of people that Jesus had performed signs, which these people observed and thus believed in Him.\u3000 \u3053\u3046\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u5927\u52e2\u306e\u4eba\u306e\u524d\u3067\u3057\u308b\u3057\u3092\u884c\u308f\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u4eba\u3005\u306f\u305d\u308c\u3092\u898b\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>However, Jesus did not do these things in order to gain the approval of the people, \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u4eba\u3005\u306e\u79f0\u8cdb\u3092\u5f97\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u3053\u3046\u3057\u305f\u3053\u3068\u3092\u306a\u3055\u3063\u305f\u308f\u3051\u3067\u306f\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n<p>because He knew that they were finicky and untrustworthy.\u3000\u306a\u305c\u306a\u3089\u3001\u4eba\u3005\u304c\u6c17\u307e\u3050\u308c\u3067\u4fe1\u983c\u3067\u304d\u306a\u3044\u3053\u3068\u3092\u77e5\u3063\u3066\u304a\u3089\u308c\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Just prior to these things, Jesus had changed the water to wine during a wedding celebration in Cana of Galilee (John 2:1-11), \u3053\u308c\u3089\u306e\u51fa\u6765\u4e8b\u306e\u76f4\u524d\u306b\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u30ac\u30ea\u30e9\u30e4\u306e\u30ab\u30ca\u306e\u5a5a\u793c\u306e\u5e2d\u3067\u6c34\u3092\u3076\u3069\u3046\u9152\u306b\u5909\u3048\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd2:1-11\uff09\u3001<\/p>\n<p>and He had driven out the money changers and those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves from the temple (John 2:13-16).\u3000\u307e\u305f\u795e\u6bbf\u304b\u3089\u4e21\u66ff\u4eba\u3084\u725b\u3084\u7f8a\u3084\u9ce9\u3092\u58f2\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u8005\u305f\u3061\u3092\u8ffd\u3044\u51fa\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd2:13-16\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n<p>It was within this context that we come to the beginning of John 3.\u3000 \u3053\u3046\u3057\u305f\u80cc\u666f\u306e\u4e2d\u3067\u3001\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306b\u3088\u308b\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\u7b2c3\u7ae0\u306e\u5192\u982d\u3078\u3068\u81f3\u308b\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 3:1-2\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff13\u7ae0\uff11\uff5e\uff12\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>1 <\/sup>Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named\u00a0Nicodemus, a\u00a0ruler of the Jews;\u00a0<sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, \u201cRabbi, we know that You have come from God\u00a0<em>as<\/em>\u00a0a teacher; for no one can do these\u00a0signs that You do unless\u00a0God is with him.\u201d <sup>1<\/sup>\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u306e\u3072\u3068\u308a\u3067\u3001\u305d\u306e\u540d\u3092\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u3068\u3044\u3046\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u306e\u6307\u5c0e\u8005\u304c\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3002<sup>2<\/sup>\u3053\u306e\u4eba\u304c\u591c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u306e\u3082\u3068\u306b\u304d\u3066\u8a00\u3063\u305f\u3001\u300c\u5148\u751f\u3001\u308f\u305f\u3057\u305f\u3061\u306f\u3042\u306a\u305f\u304c\u795e\u304b\u3089\u3053\u3089\u308c\u305f\u6559\u5e2b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u77e5\u3063\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002\u795e\u304c\u3054\u4e00\u7dd2\u3067\u306a\u3044\u306a\u3089\u3001\u3042\u306a\u305f\u304c\u306a\u3055\u3063\u3066\u304a\u3089\u308c\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306a\u3057\u308b\u3057\u306f\u3001\u3060\u308c\u306b\u3082\u3067\u304d\u306f\u3057\u307e\u305b\u3093\u300d\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus was a Pharisee, and he was also a ruler of the Jews, \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u307e\u305f\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u306e\u6307\u5c0e\u8005\u3067\u3082\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>which meant that he was a member of the court of seventy elders, known as the Sanhedrin.\u3000\u3064\u307e\u308a\u5f7c\u306f\u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u3068\u547c\u3070\u308c\u308b\u4e03\u5341\u4eba\u306e\u9577\u8001\u304b\u3089\u306a\u308b\u8a55\u8b70\u4f1a\u306e\u30e1\u30f3\u30d0\u30fc\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The Sanhedrin was the highest religious body among the Jews.\u3000 \u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u306f\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u793e\u4f1a\u306b\u304a\u3051\u308b\u6700\u9ad8\u4f4d\u306e\u5b97\u6559\u6a5f\u95a2\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Note that Nicodemus being in such a high position addressed Jesus as \u201cRabbi,\u201d a respectful title that recognized Him as a teacher.\u3000 \u6ce8\u76ee\u3059\u3079\u304d\u306f\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u3053\u308c\u307b\u3069\u9ad8\u3044\u5730\u4f4d\u306b\u3042\u308a\u306a\u304c\u3089\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3092\u300c\u30e9\u30d3\u300d\u3068\u547c\u3093\u3060\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\u3002\u3053\u308c\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3092\u6559\u5e2b\u3068\u3057\u3066\u8a8d\u3081\u308b\u656c\u610f\u3092\u8868\u3059\u547c\u3073\u540d\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>He even expressed his belief that Jesus had come from God, in view of the signs that He was doing (John 2:23).\u3000 \u5f7c\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u884c\u3063\u3066\u3044\u305f\u3057\u308b\u3057\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd2:23\uff09\u3092\u9451\u307f\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u795e\u304b\u3089\u6765\u3089\u308c\u305f\u3068\u3055\u3048\u4fe1\u3058\u3066\u3044\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Having observed Jesus during the Passover Feast in Jerusalem, Nicodemus wanted a private audience with Him.\u3000 \u30a8\u30eb\u30b5\u30ec\u30e0\u3067\u306e\u904e\u8d8a\u306e\u796d\u308a\u306e\u9593\u306b\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3092\u89b3\u5bdf\u3057\u305f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3068\u500b\u4eba\u7684\u306b\u9762\u4f1a\u3057\u305f\u3044\u3068\u9858\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps he wanted to determine if Jesus was a prophet as well as a teacher.\u3000\u304a\u305d\u3089\u304f\u5f7c\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u6559\u5e2b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3068\u540c\u6642\u306b\u9810\u8a00\u8005\u3067\u3042\u308b\u304b\u3069\u3046\u304b\u3092\u78ba\u304b\u3081\u305f\u304b\u3063\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Nicodemus was representing others on the Sanhedrin beside himself such as Joseph of Arimathea, \u304a\u305d\u3089\u304f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3001\u81ea\u5206\u4ee5\u5916\u306b\u3082\u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u306e\u4ed6\u306e\u8005\u305f\u3061\u3001\u4f8b\u3048\u3070\u30a2\u30ea\u30de\u30bf\u30e4\u306e\u30e8\u30bb\u30d5\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306a\u8005\u305f\u3061\u3092\u4ee3\u8868\u3057\u3066\u304a\u308a\u3001<\/p>\n<p>who may have been drawn to know more about Jesus.\u3000\u5f7c\u3089\u3082\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u3082\u3063\u3068\u77e5\u308a\u305f\u304c\u3063\u3066\u3044\u305f\u306e\u304b\u3082\u3057\u308c\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, Nicodemus\u2019 courtesy and lack of hostility toward Jesus was unusual for a Pharisee.\u3000 \u3044\u305a\u308c\u306b\u305b\u3088\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306e\u793c\u5100\u6b63\u3057\u3055\u3068\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306b\u5bfe\u3059\u308b\u6575\u610f\u306e\u306a\u3055\u306f\u3001\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u3068\u3057\u3066\u306f\u7570\u4f8b\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>However, Jesus abruptly responded to Nicodemus with a startling statement.\u3000 \u3057\u304b\u3057\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u5bfe\u3057\u3066\u7a81\u7136\u3001\u9a5a\u304f\u3079\u304d\u8a00\u8449\u3067\u5fdc\u3058\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 3:3\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff13\u7ae0\uff13\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus answered and said to him,\u00a0\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, unless one\u00a0is born\u00a0again he cannot see\u00a0the kingdom of God.\u201d \u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u306f\u7b54\u3048\u3066\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3088\u304f\u3088\u304f\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306b\u8a00\u3063\u3066\u304a\u304f\u3002\u3060\u308c\u3067\u3082\u65b0\u3057\u304f\u751f\u308c\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u3001\u795e\u306e\u56fd\u3092\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3067\u304d\u306a\u3044\u300d\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To truly understand the gravity of Jesus\u2019 statement to Nicodemus who was a Pharisee, \u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u306e\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u5bfe\u3059\u308b\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u8a00\u8449\u306e\u91cd\u5927\u3055\u3092\u771f\u306b\u7406\u89e3\u3059\u308b\u306b\u306f\u3001<\/p>\n<p>we will need to understand a little bit about Pharisaic Judaism.\u3000\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u6559\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u5c11\u3057\u7406\u89e3\u3059\u308b\u5fc5\u8981\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>In other words, we need to understand what the Pharisees at that time believed.\u3000 \u3064\u307e\u308a\u3001\u5f53\u6642\u306e\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u304c\u4f55\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u3066\u3044\u305f\u304b\u3092\u7406\u89e3\u3057\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u306a\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n<p>As a Pharisee, Nicodemus\u2019 entire religious hope rested upon his lineage, a physical descent from Abraham.\u3000 \u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u3068\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306e\u5b97\u6559\u7684\u5e0c\u671b\u306e\u3059\u3079\u3066\u306f\u3001\u30a2\u30d6\u30e9\u30cf\u30e0\u304b\u3089\u306e\u8089\u7684\u306a\u8840\u7b4b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u81ea\u8eab\u306e\u7cfb\u8b5c\u306b\u304b\u304b\u3063\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus as well as all Pharisees believed that \u201cAll Israel has a share in the world to come.\u201d\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u3082\u4ed6\u306e\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u306e\u8005\u305f\u3061\u3068\u540c\u69d8\u306b\u300c\u30a4\u30b9\u30e9\u30a8\u30eb\u306e\u6c11\u306f\u7686\u3001\u6765\u305f\u308b\u3079\u304d\u4e16\u306b\u5206\u3051\u524d\u3092\u6301\u3064\u300d\u3068\u4fe1\u3058\u3066\u3044\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, they believed that to be born physically as a Jew was enough to enter into the kingdom of God.\u3000 \u3057\u305f\u304c\u3063\u3066\u5f7c\u3089\u306f\u3001\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u3068\u3057\u3066\u8089\u4f53\u7684\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3053\u305d\u304c\u3001\u795e\u306e\u738b\u56fd\u306b\u5165\u308b\u306e\u306b\u5341\u5206\u3060\u3068\u8003\u3048\u3066\u3044\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>To this kind of thinking, Jesus said to Nicodemus: \u3053\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306a\u8003\u3048\u306b\u5bfe\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u3053\u3046\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\uff1a<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.\u201d \u300c\u3060\u308c\u3067\u3082\u65b0\u3057\u304f\u751f\u308c\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u3001\u795e\u306e\u56fd\u3092\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3067\u304d\u306a\u3044\u300d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The ancient Greek word translated again, <em>anothen<\/em>, can be also translated \u201cfrom above\u201d.\u3000 \u53e4\u4ee3\u30ae\u30ea\u30b7\u30e3\u8a9e\u3067\u300c\u518d\u3073\u300d\u3068\u8a33\u3055\u308c\u308b\u300c\u30a2\u30ce\u30c6\u30f3\u300d\u306f\u3001\u300c\u4e0a\u304b\u3089\u300d\u3068\u3082\u8a33\u3057\u5f97\u308b\u8a00\u8449\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Thus, to be born from above is to be born again.\u3000\u3057\u305f\u304c\u3063\u3066\u3001\u4e0a\u304b\u3089\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u3068\u306f\u3001\u65b0\u305f\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, this means to have new life.\u3000 \u672c\u8cea\u7684\u306b\u3001\u3053\u308c\u306f\u65b0\u305f\u306a\u547d\u3092\u6301\u3064\u3053\u3068\u3092\u610f\u5473\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, we see that Nicodemus was truly taken aback by Jesus\u2019 statement as can be seen in his following response.\u3000 \u3044\u305a\u308c\u306b\u305b\u3088\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u8a00\u8449\u306b\u6df1\u304f\u9a5a\u3044\u305f\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3001\u5f7c\u306e\u6b21\u306e\u5fdc\u7b54\u304b\u3089\u3082\u660e\u3089\u304b\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 3:4\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff13\u7ae0\uff14\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus said to Him, \u201cHow can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother\u2019s womb and be born, can he?\u201d \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u8a00\u3063\u305f\u3001\u300c\u4eba\u306f\u5e74\u3092\u3068\u3063\u3066\u304b\u3089\u751f\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3001\u3069\u3046\u3057\u3066\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u304b\u3002\u3082\u3046\u4e00\u5ea6\u3001\u6bcd\u306e\u80ce\u306b\u306f\u3044\u3063\u3066\u751f\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u304b\u300d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus\u2019 reply definitely shows that he saw the term \u201cborn again\u201d as something that was entirely physical.\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306e\u8fd4\u7b54\u306f\u3001\u5f7c\u304c\u300c\u751f\u307e\u308c\u5909\u308f\u308b\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3046\u8a00\u8449\u3092\u5b8c\u5168\u306b\u8089\u4f53\u7684\u306a\u3082\u306e\u3068\u3057\u3066\u6349\u3048\u3066\u3044\u305f\u3053\u3068\u3092\u660e\u78ba\u306b\u793a\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>In regard to this matter, it would be helpful once again to understand Pharisaic Judaism.\u3000\u3000\u3000 \u3053\u306e\u4ef6\u306b\u95a2\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u6559\u3092\u7406\u89e3\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u6539\u3081\u3066\u6709\u76ca\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n<p>And from Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum of Ariel Ministries.\u3000\u30a2\u30ea\u30a8\u30eb\u30fb\u30df\u30cb\u30b9\u30c8\u30ea\u30fc\u30ba\u306e\u30a2\u30fc\u30ce\u30eb\u30c9\u30fb\u30d5\u30eb\u30af\u30c6\u30f3\u30d0\u30a6\u30e0\u535a\u58eb\u306b\u3088\u308b\u3082\u306e\u306a\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus was questioning how he as an old man, who had accomplished all he could, be born again.\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3001\u3059\u3067\u306b\u6210\u3057\u9042\u3052\u3089\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306f\u5168\u3066\u6210\u3057\u9042\u3052\u305f\u8001\u3044\u305f\u8eab\u3068\u3057\u3066\u3001\u3044\u304b\u306b\u3057\u3066\u65b0\u305f\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u306e\u304b\u3092\u554f\u3046\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>In Pharisaic Judaism there were six ways to be born again and they are all physical ways.\u3000 \u3000\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u6559\u306b\u306f\u65b0\u305f\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306e\u516d\u3064\u306e\u65b9\u6cd5\u304c\u3042\u308a\u3001\u305d\u308c\u3089\u306f\u5168\u3066\u7269\u7406\u7684\u306a\u65b9\u6cd5\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>For Nicodemus, four of the six applied to him.\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u306f\u3001\u305d\u306e\u516d\u3064\u306e\u3046\u3061\u56db\u3064\u304c\u8a72\u5f53\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The six ways are:\u3000\u516d\u3064\u306e\u65b9\u6cd5\u306f\u4ee5\u4e0b\u306e\u901a\u308a\u3067\u3059\uff1a<\/p>\n<p>1: For a Gentile to convert to Judaism\u3000\u7570\u90a6\u4eba\u304c\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u6559\u306b\u6539\u5b97\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068<\/p>\n<p>2:To be crowned king\u3000\u738b\u3068\u3057\u3066\u6234\u51a0\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068<\/p>\n<p>3: Bar mitzvah (son of the commandment) at age 13\u300013\u6b73\u3067\u30d0\u30eb\u30fb\u30df\u30c4\u30f4\u30a1\uff08\u6212\u5f8b\u306e\u5b50\uff09\u3068\u306a\u308b\u3053\u3068<\/p>\n<p>4: To marry (at around 16 to 20 years of age) \u2013 assumed of Nicodemus because he was a \u201cruler of the Jews,\u201d and as a member of the Sanhedrin he had to be married\u3000\u7d50\u5a5a\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\uff0816\u6b73\u304b\u308920\u6b73\u9803\uff09\uff0d\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u300c\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u306e\u6307\u5c0e\u8005\u300d\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u306e\u4e00\u54e1\u3068\u3057\u3066\u7d50\u5a5a\u304c\u5fc5\u9808\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u305f\u3081\u3001\u7d50\u5a5a\u3057\u3066\u3044\u305f\u3068\u63a8\u5b9a\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>5: To be ordained a rabbi (around age 30) \u2013 assumed of Nicodemus because he was a Pharisee\u3000\u30e9\u30d3\u306b\u53d9\u4efb\u3055\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\uff0830\u6b73\u524d\u5f8c\uff09\uff0d\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u305f\u3081\u3001\u3053\u306e\u6bb5\u968e\u3092\u7d4c\u305f\u3068\u63a8\u6e2c\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>6: To become a Rosh Yeshiva (around age 50), the head of a rabbinic school \u2013 \u30ed\u30b7\u30e5\u30fb\u30a4\u30a7\u30b7\u30fc\u30d0\u30fc\uff0850\u6b73\u524d\u5f8c\uff09\u3001\u30e9\u30d3\u5b66\u6821\u306e\u6821\u9577\u3068\u306a\u308b\u3053\u3068\uff0d<\/p>\n<p>assumed of Nicodemus because Jesus referred to him as \u201cthe teacher of Israel\u201d in John 3:10\u3000\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd3:10\u3067\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u5f7c\u3092\u300c\u30a4\u30b9\u30e9\u30a8\u30eb\u306e\u6559\u5e2b\u300d\u3068\u547c\u3093\u3060\u3053\u3068\u304b\u3089\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3053\u306e\u5730\u4f4d\u306b\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3068\u63a8\u6e2c\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Within Pharisaic Judaism there is no other way to be born again. \u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u6559\u306b\u304a\u3044\u3066\u306f\u3001\u4ed6\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u5909\u308f\u308b\u9053\u306f\u306a\u3044\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Thus, for Nicodemus who had already gone through all of these ways of being born again, he asked Jesus: \u3057\u305f\u304c\u3063\u3066\u3001\u3059\u3067\u306b\u3053\u308c\u3089\u306e\u751f\u307e\u308c\u5909\u308f\u308b\u65b9\u6cd5\u3092\u3059\u3079\u3066\u7d4c\u9a13\u3057\u3066\u3044\u305f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306b\u3053\u3046\u5c0b\u306d\u307e\u3057\u305f\uff1a<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother\u2019s womb and be born, can he?\u201d\u300c\u4eba\u306f\u5e74\u3092\u3068\u3063\u3066\u304b\u3089\u751f\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3001\u3069\u3046\u3057\u3066\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u304b\u3002\u3082\u3046\u4e00\u5ea6\u3001\u6bcd\u306e\u80ce\u306b\u306f\u3044\u3063\u3066\u751f\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u304b\u300d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Jesus explained what He meant regarding being born again. \u3053\u3046\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u751f\u307e\u308c\u5909\u308f\u308b\u3068\u3044\u3046\u3053\u3068\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u3001\u3054\u81ea\u8eab\u306e\u610f\u56f3\u3092\u8aac\u660e\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 3:5-8\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff13\u7ae0\uff15\uff5e\uff18\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus answered,\u00a0\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of\u00a0water and the Spirit he cannot enter into\u00a0the kingdom of God.\u00a0<sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.\u00a0<sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>Do not be amazed that I said to you, \u2018You must be born\u00a0again.\u2019\u00a0<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.\u201d \u00a0<sup>5<\/sup>\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u306f\u7b54\u3048\u3089\u308c\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3088\u304f\u3088\u304f\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306b\u8a00\u3063\u3066\u304a\u304f\u3002\u3060\u308c\u3067\u3082\u3001\u6c34\u3068\u970a\u3068\u304b\u3089\u751f\u308c\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u3001\u795e\u306e\u56fd\u306b\u306f\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306f\u3067\u304d\u306a\u3044\u3002<sup>6<\/sup>\u8089\u304b\u3089\u751f\u308c\u308b\u8005\u306f\u8089\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u970a\u304b\u3089\u751f\u308c\u308b\u8005\u306f\u970a\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3002<sup>7<\/sup>\u3042\u306a\u305f\u304c\u305f\u306f\u65b0\u3057\u304f\u751f\u308c\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u306a\u3089\u306a\u3044\u3068\u3001\u308f\u305f\u3057\u304c\u8a00\u3063\u305f\u304b\u3089\u3068\u3066\u3001\u4e0d\u601d\u8b70\u306b\u601d\u3046\u306b\u306f\u53ca\u3070\u306a\u3044\u3002<sup>8<\/sup>\u98a8\u306f\u601d\u3044\u306e\u307e\u307e\u306b\u5439\u304f\u3002\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306f\u305d\u306e\u97f3\u3092\u805e\u304f\u304c\u3001\u305d\u308c\u304c\u3069\u3053\u304b\u3089\u304d\u3066\u3001\u3069\u3053\u3078\u884c\u304f\u304b\u306f\u77e5\u3089\u306a\u3044\u3002\u970a\u304b\u3089\u751f\u308c\u308b\u8005\u3082\u307f\u306a\u3001\u305d\u308c\u3068\u540c\u3058\u3067\u3042\u308b\u300d\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jesus made it clear that He was not talking about any of the physical aspects of being born again that Nicodemus and Pharisaical Judaism believed.\u3000 \u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u3084\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u6d3e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u6559\u304c\u4fe1\u3058\u3066\u3044\u305f\u3088\u3046\u306a\u3001\u751f\u307e\u308c\u5909\u308f\u308b\u3068\u3044\u3046\u6982\u5ff5\u306e\u8089\u4f53\u7684\u306a\u5074\u9762\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u8a9e\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u306e\u3067\u306f\u306a\u3044\u3053\u3068\u3092\u660e\u78ba\u306b\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Jesus made it very clear that he was speaking of a new birth that was spiritual in nature.\u3000 \u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u3001\u970a\u7684\u306a\u6027\u8cea\u3092\u6301\u3064\u65b0\u305f\u306a\u8a95\u751f\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u8a9e\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u975e\u5e38\u306b\u660e\u78ba\u306b\u3055\u308c\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>There are many scholarly explanations as to what Jesus meant by \u201cborn of water and the Spirit,\u201d but what He said after that \u300c\u6c34\u3068\u5fa1\u970a\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u300d\u3068\u3044\u3046\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u8a00\u8449\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u306f\u591a\u304f\u306e\u5b66\u8aac\u304c\u3042\u308a\u307e\u3059\u304c\u3001\u305d\u306e\u5f8c\u306e\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u767a\u8a00\u304b\u3089\u3001<\/p>\n<p>makes it clear He was referring to spiritual birth (born of the Spirit) and not physical birth (born of the being born of the water and the Spirit was equal to being born of the Spirit, because it was the basis for one to enter into the kingdom of God.\u3000 reality was that Nicodemus was indeed amazed at this statement by Jesus.\u3000 said this, so that Nicodemus would realize his need to be born from above, and seek new life by the Spirit of God.\u3000 as Nicodemus did not understand everything about the movements of the wind, wanted him to know that he didn\u2019t have to understand everything about the new birth before he experienced Nicodemus was still struggling to grasp what Jesus was saying to him.\u3000 \u3057\u304b\u3057\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u4f9d\u7136\u3068\u3057\u3066\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u81ea\u5206\u306b\u8a9e\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u7406\u89e3\u3057\u3088\u3046\u3068\u82e6\u95d8\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 3:9\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff13\u7ae0\uff19\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicodemus said to Him, \u201cHow can these things be?\u201d was being honest before Jesus.\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u524d\u3067\u6b63\u76f4\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>He did not understand how to be born of the Spirit.\u3000 \u5f7c\u306f\u970a\u304b\u3089\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u7406\u89e3\u3057\u3066\u3044\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>So, to Nicodemus\u2019 honest question, Jesus answered him with an honest answer.\u3000 already noted, Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a ruler of the Jews.\u3000 was also addressed here by Jesus as \u201cthe teacher of Israel\u201d.\u3000 \u307e\u305f\u3001\u3053\u3053\u3067\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u300c\u30a4\u30b9\u30e9\u30a8\u30eb\u306e\u6559\u5e2b\u300d\u3068\u547c\u3070\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>This simply meant that he was a well-known and acknowledged teacher who even had a place in the Sanhedrin.\u3000 \u3053\u308c\u306f\u5358\u306b\u3001\u5f7c\u304c\u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u306e\u4e00\u54e1\u3068\u3057\u3066\u8a8d\u3081\u3089\u308c\u305f\u8457\u540d\u306a\u6559\u5e2b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u610f\u5473\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>As such, he should have known the Old Testament well.\u3000 \u3057\u305f\u304c\u3063\u3066\u3001\u5f7c\u306f\u65e7\u7d04\u8056\u66f8\u3092\u719f\u77e5\u3057\u3066\u3044\u308b\u306f\u305a\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Jesus chided Nicodemus regarding his understanding of the Old Testament.\u3000 \u305d\u308c\u3086\u3048\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306e\u65e7\u7d04\u8056\u66f8\u7406\u89e3\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u6212\u3081\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>He should have been aware of the need and the promise of the new birth.\u3000 \u5f7c\u306f\u65b0\u305f\u306b\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u5fc5\u8981\u6027\u3068\u7d04\u675f\u3092\u8a8d\u8b58\u3059\u3079\u304d\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Because his study of the Scriptures should have made him aware that no one can come to God in his or her own strength or righteousness without the necessity of God\u2019s spiritual cleansing.\u3000 the third time in His conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus affirmed a solemn truth by stating, \u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, . . .\u201d\u3000 truly, I say to you,\u00a0we speak of what we know and\u00a0testify of what we have seen, and\u00a0you do not accept our claimed to be speaking the truth as an eyewitness, but Nicodemus was rejecting that witness.\u3000 Jesus went into matters that probably went way over Nicodemus\u2019 head.\u3000\u305d\u306e\u5f8c\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306e\u7406\u89e3\u3092\u306f\u308b\u304b\u306b\u8d85\u3048\u305f\u4e8b\u67c4\u306b\u8e0f\u307f\u8fbc\u307f\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John \u201cearthly things\u201d that Jesus had told Nicodemus involved the new birth.\u3000 new birth is earthly in that it occurs on the earth.\u3000 \u65b0\u751f\u306f\u5730\u4e0a\u3067\u884c\u308f\u308c\u308b\u3068\u3044\u3046\u70b9\u3067\u5730\u4e0a\u306e\u4e8b\u67c4\u3068\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Because Nicodemus had not believed that, he surely could not begin to believe things that Jesus might have told him about \u201cheavenly things.\u201d\u3000 Jesus began to explain why He could speak authoritatively about heavenly things.\u3000 would graciously provide new spiritual life for sinful humanity.\u3000\u7f6a\u6df1\u3044\u4eba\u985e\u306b\u3082\u3001\u6075\u307f\u3092\u3082\u3063\u3066\u65b0\u3057\u3044\u970a\u7684\u306a\u547d\u3092\u4e0e\u3048\u308b\u3068\u8a00\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>By comparing Himself to the bronze serpent that was lifted up, Jesus was teaching that whoever trusted in Him and His death would receive eternal life.\u3000 \u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u3001\u63b2\u3052\u3089\u308c\u305f\u9752\u9285\u306e\u86c7\u306b\u81ea\u5206\u3092\u4f8b\u3048\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3001\u5fa1\u81ea\u8eab\u3068\u5fa1\u81ea\u8eab\u306e\u6b7b\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u308b\u8005\u306f\u8ab0\u3067\u3082\u6c38\u9060\u306e\u547d\u3092\u53d7\u3051\u53d6\u308b\u3068\u6559\u3048\u3089\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Jesus said to Nicodemus:\u3000 \u3055\u3089\u306b\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u3053\u3046\u8a00\u308f\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\uff1a<\/p>\n<p>John 3:16\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff13\u7ae0\uff11\uff16\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>For God so\u00a0loved the world, that He\u00a0gave His\u00a0only begotten Son, that whoever\u00a0believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.\u201d made it clear that He was God\u2019s only begotten Son, and that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.\u3000 \u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u3001\u3054\u81ea\u8eab\u304c\u795e\u306e\u4e00\u4eba\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u5fa1\u5b50\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u308b\u8005\u306f\u6ec5\u3073\u308b\u3053\u3068\u306a\u304f\u6c38\u9060\u306e\u547d\u3092\u5f97\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u660e\u3089\u304b\u306b\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Jesus made it very clear to Nicodemus that to be born of the Spirit and enter into the kingdom of God, \u3053\u3046\u3057\u3066\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u3001\u5fa1\u970a\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u751f\u307e\u308c\u3001\u795e\u306e\u56fd\u306b\u5165\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u306f\u3001<\/p>\n<p>he must believe in Him as the Son of God and receive eternal life.\u3000\u5fa1\u5b50\u3092\u795e\u306e\u5b50\u3068\u3057\u3066\u4fe1\u3058\u3001\u6c38\u9060\u306e\u547d\u3092\u53d7\u3051\u5165\u308c\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u306a\u3089\u306a\u3044\u3053\u3068\u3092\u306f\u3063\u304d\u308a\u3068\u793a\u3055\u308c\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>So, how did Nicodemus respond to all of this?\u3000 \u3067\u306f\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3053\u306e\u3059\u3079\u3066\u306b\u3069\u3046\u5fdc\u3048\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u304b\uff1f<\/p>\n<p>All Jewish believers go through a great struggle to come to faith in Jesus Christ.\u3000 \u3059\u3079\u3066\u306e\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u4eba\u4fe1\u8005\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u306b\u81f3\u308b\u307e\u3067\u5927\u304d\u306a\u845b\u85e4\u3092\u7d4c\u9a13\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>For Nicodemus this struggle began here, and lasted for nearly three years.\u3000 \u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u3068\u3063\u3066\u3053\u306e\u845b\u85e4\u306f\u3053\u3053\u304b\u3089\u59cb\u307e\u308a\u3001\u307b\u307c\u4e09\u5e74\u9593\u7d9a\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>We see Nicodemus mentioned in the Gospel of John again in 7:40-52 and 19:38-42.\u3000 \u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\u3067\u306f\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u518d\u30737:40-52\u306819:38-42\u3067\u8a00\u53ca\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>As more and more people began to believe and follow Jesus, the Jewish religious leaders became jealous of Jesus\u2019 popularity and sought to get rid of Him.\u3000 \u307e\u3059\u307e\u3059\u591a\u304f\u306e\u4eba\u3005\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u5f93\u3046\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308b\u3068\u3001\u30e6\u30c0\u30e4\u306e\u5b97\u6559\u6307\u5c0e\u8005\u305f\u3061\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u4eba\u6c17\u3092\u59ac\u307f\u3001\u5f7c\u3092\u6392\u9664\u3057\u3088\u3046\u3068\u4f01\u3066\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>As the crowds began to debate over whether Jesus was a prophet and the Christ, \u7fa4\u8846\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306f\u9810\u8a00\u8005\u3067\u3042\u308a\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3067\u3042\u308b\u304b\u3069\u3046\u304b\u3092\u8b70\u8ad6\u3057\u59cb\u3081\u305f\u305f\u3081\u3001<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>the religious leaders became even more weary of Jesus and sent their officers to arrest Him.\u3000\u5b97\u6559\u6307\u5c0e\u8005\u305f\u3061\u306f\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306b\u5bfe\u3057\u3066\u3055\u3089\u306b\u8b66\u6212\u3092\u5f37\u3081\u3001\u5f79\u4eba\u3092\u9063\u308f\u3057\u3066\u5f7c\u3092\u6355\u3089\u3048\u3055\u305b\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>We see the after effects of this in the following verses:\u3000 \u3053\u306e\u5f8c\u306e\u7bc0\u306b\u306f\u3001\u305d\u306e\u4f59\u6ce2\u304c\u8a18\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\uff1a<\/p>\n<p>John 7:44-52\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff17\u7ae0\uff14\uff14\uff5e\uff15\uff12\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>44\u00a0<\/sup>Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him. <sup>45\u00a0<\/sup>The\u00a0officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, \u201cWhy did you not bring Him?\u201d\u00a0<sup>46\u00a0<\/sup>The\u00a0officers answered, \u201cNever has a man spoken the way this man speaks.\u201d\u00a0<sup>47\u00a0<\/sup>The Pharisees then answered them, \u201cYou have not also been led astray, have you?\u00a0<sup>48\u00a0<\/sup>No one of\u00a0the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?\u00a0<sup>49\u00a0<\/sup>But this crowd which does not know the Law is accursed.\u201d\u00a0<sup>50\u00a0<\/sup>Nicodemus (he who came to Him before, being one of them) said to them,\u00a0<sup>51\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cOur Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?\u201d\u00a0<sup>52\u00a0<\/sup>They answered him, \u201cYou are not also from Galilee, are you? Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee.\u201d <sup>44<\/sup>\u5f7c\u3089\u306e\u3046\u3061\u306e\u3042\u308b\u4eba\u3005\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u3092\u6355\u3048\u3088\u3046\u3068\u601d\u3063\u305f\u304c\u3001\u3060\u308c\u3072\u3068\u308a\u624b\u3092\u304b\u3051\u308b\u8005\u306f\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3002<sup>45<\/sup>\u3055\u3066\u3001\u4e0b\u5f79\u3069\u3082\u304c\u796d\u53f8\u9577\u305f\u3061\u3084\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u305f\u3061\u306e\u3068\u3053\u308d\u306b\u5e30\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3001\u5f7c\u3089\u306f\u305d\u306e\u4e0b\u5f79\u3069\u3082\u306b\u8a00\u3063\u305f\u3001\u300c\u306a\u305c\u3001\u3042\u306e\u4eba\u3092\u9023\u308c\u3066\u3053\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u306e\u304b\u300d\u3002<sup>46<\/sup>\u4e0b\u5f79\u3069\u3082\u306f\u7b54\u3048\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3053\u306e\u4eba\u306e\u8a9e\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u8a9e\u3063\u305f\u8005\u306f\u3001\u3053\u308c\u307e\u3067\u306b\u3042\u308a\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u300d\u3002<sup>47<\/sup>\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u305f\u3061\u304c\u5f7c\u3089\u306b\u7b54\u3048\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3042\u306a\u305f\u304c\u305f\u307e\u3067\u304c\u3001\u3060\u307e\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u306e\u3067\u306f\u306a\u3044\u304b\u3002<sup>48<\/sup>\u5f79\u4eba\u305f\u3061\u3084\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u305f\u3061\u306e\u4e2d\u3067\u3001\u3072\u3068\u308a\u3067\u3082\u5f7c\u3092\u4fe1\u3058\u305f\u8005\u304c\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3060\u308d\u3046\u304b\u3002<sup>49<\/sup>\u5f8b\u6cd5\u3092\u308f\u304d\u307e\u3048\u306a\u3044\u3053\u306e\u7fa4\u8846\u306f\u3001\u306e\u308d\u308f\u308c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u300d\u3002<sup>50<\/sup>\u5f7c\u3089\u306e\u4e2d\u306e\u3072\u3068\u308a\u3067\u3001\u4ee5\u524d\u306b\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u306b\u4f1a\u3044\u306b\u304d\u305f\u3053\u3068\u306e\u3042\u308b\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u3001\u5f7c\u3089\u306b\u8a00\u3063\u305f\u3001<sup>51<\/sup>\u300c\u308f\u305f\u3057\u305f\u3061\u306e\u5f8b\u6cd5\u306b\u3088\u308c\u3070\u3001\u307e\u305a\u305d\u306e\u4eba\u306e\u8a00\u3044\u5206\u3092\u805e\u304d\u3001\u305d\u306e\u4eba\u306e\u3057\u305f\u3053\u3068\u3092\u77e5\u3063\u305f\u4e0a\u3067\u306a\u3051\u308c\u3070\u3001\u3055\u3070\u304f\u3053\u3068\u3092\u3057\u306a\u3044\u306e\u3067\u306f\u306a\u3044\u304b\u300d\u3002<sup>52<\/sup>\u5f7c\u3089\u306f\u7b54\u3048\u3066\u8a00\u3063\u305f\u3001\u300c\u3042\u306a\u305f\u3082\u30ac\u30ea\u30e9\u30e4\u51fa\u306a\u306e\u304b\u3002\u3088\u304f\u8abf\u3079\u3066\u307f\u306a\u3055\u3044\u3001\u30ac\u30ea\u30e9\u30e4\u304b\u3089\u306f\u9810\u8a00\u8005\u304c\u51fa\u308b\u3082\u306e\u3067\u306f\u306a\u3044\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3001\u308f\u304b\u308b\u3060\u308d\u3046\u300d\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here, we see that Nicodemus actually spoke up in defense of Jesus, \u3053\u3053\u3067\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u5b9f\u969b\u306b\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u3092\u64c1\u8b77\u3057\u3066\u767a\u8a00\u3057\u305f\u3053\u3068\u304c\u308f\u304b\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>or at least he did not silently agree with his fellow members of the Sanhedrin in their assessment of Jesus.\u3000\u5c11\u306a\u304f\u3068\u3082\u3001\u5f7c\u306f\u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u306e\u4ed6\u306e\u30e1\u30f3\u30d0\u30fc\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306b\u5bfe\u3057\u3066\u4e0b\u3057\u305f\u8a55\u4fa1\u306b\u9ed9\u3063\u3066\u540c\u610f\u306f\u3057\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>And as we can see, he was actually ridiculed by them for speaking out on the matter.\u3000\u305d\u3057\u3066\u3054\u89a7\u306e\u901a\u308a\u3001\u5f7c\u306f\u3053\u306e\u4ef6\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u767a\u8a00\u3057\u305f\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3001\u5f7c\u3089\u304b\u3089\u5632\u7b11\u3055\u308c\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>We next see Nicodemus after Jesus was crucified.\u3000\u6b21\u306b\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u5341\u5b57\u67b6\u306b\u304b\u3051\u3089\u308c\u305f\u5f8c\u306e\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306e\u59ff\u3092\u898b\u3066\u307f\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n<p>John 19:38-42\uff08\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306e\u798f\u97f3\u66f8\uff11\uff19\u7ae0\uff13\uff18\uff5e\uff14\uff12\u7bc0\uff09<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>38\u00a0<\/sup>After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.\u00a0<sup>39\u00a0<\/sup>Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came,\u00a0bringing a\u00a0mixture of\u00a0myrrh and aloes, about a\u00a0hundred\u00a0pounds\u00a0<em>weight<\/em>.\u00a0<sup>40\u00a0<\/sup>So they took the body of Jesus and\u00a0bound it in\u00a0linen wrappings with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.\u00a0<sup>41\u00a0<\/sup>Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a\u00a0new tomb\u00a0in which no one had yet been laid.\u00a0<sup>42\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore because of the Jewish day of\u00a0preparation, since the tomb was\u00a0nearby, they laid Jesus there. we see Nicodemus at Jesus\u2019 burial alongside of Joseph of Arimathea, who was also a member of the Sanhedrin.\u3000 \u3053\u3053\u304b\u3089\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u57cb\u846c\u306b\u969b\u3057\u3001\u540c\u3058\u304f\u30b5\u30f3\u30d8\u30c9\u30ea\u30f3\u306e\u4e00\u54e1\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u30a2\u30ea\u30de\u30bf\u30e4\u306e\u30e8\u30bb\u30d5\u3068\u5171\u306b\u3044\u305f\u3053\u3068\u304c\u308f\u304b\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>It is interesting that the apostle John clearly wrote that Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but did not make such a statement regarding Nicodemus.\u3000\u8208\u5473\u6df1\u3044\u3053\u3068\u306b\u3001\u4f7f\u5f92\u30e8\u30cf\u30cd\u306f\u30e8\u30bb\u30d5\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u5f1f\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3053\u3068\u3092\u660e\u78ba\u306b\u8a18\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u304c\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u306f\u305d\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306a\u8a18\u8ff0\u3092\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Either by association, we are to presume that Nicodemus was a disciple of Jesus at this point, or he was not a disciple yet.\u3000 \u95a2\u9023\u6027\u304b\u3089\u3001\u3053\u306e\u6642\u70b9\u3067\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u5f1f\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3068\u63a8\u6e2c\u3059\u3079\u304d\u304b\u3001\u3042\u308b\u3044\u306f\u307e\u3060\u5f1f\u5b50\u3067\u306f\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3068\u3059\u308b\u306e\u304b\u306e\u3044\u305a\u308c\u304b\u3068\u306a\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>At the very least, we know that Nicodemus was not afraid to be associated with Jesus in His death.\u3000 \u5c11\u306a\u304f\u3068\u3082\u3001\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u304c\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u6b7b\u3068\u95a2\u308f\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3092\u6050\u308c\u3066\u3044\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u3053\u3068\u306f\u78ba\u304b\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>There is nothing more written about Nicodemus in the Bible after \u201cHe was reduced to poverty and died as a pauper.\u201d\u3000 because of his faith in Jesus Christ.\u3000 \u304a\u305d\u3089\u304f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3078\u306e\u4fe1\u4ef0\u304c\u539f\u56e0\u3067\u3042\u3063\u305f\u3068\u8003\u3048\u3089\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus was willing to give up physical wealth for spiritual blessings that can only be found in Jesus Christ.\u3000\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u306b\u306e\u307f\u898b\u51fa\u3055\u308c\u308b\u970a\u7684\u306a\u795d\u798f\u3092\u5f97\u308b\u305f\u3081\u306b\u3001\u7269\u8cea\u7684\u306a\u5bcc\u3092\u559c\u3093\u3067\u624b\u653e\u3057\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>So, we see that on top of being a Pharisee, a ruler of the Jews, and the teacher of Israel, Nicodemus was a very wealthy man.\u3000 the New Testament, we see that Jesus addressed the follies and difficulties of those who are wealthy through His teachings to the people.\u3000\u65b0\u7d04\u8056\u66f8\u3067\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u4eba\u3005\u3078\u306e\u6559\u3048\u3092\u901a\u3057\u3066\u3001\u5bcc\u3081\u308b\u8005\u305f\u3061\u306e\u611a\u304b\u3055\u3084\u56f0\u96e3\u306b\u8a00\u53ca\u3057\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u308f\u304b\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>One such teaching came from His encounter with a rich young ruler, which can be found in three of the Gospels (Matthew 19:16-30; Mark 10:17-27; Luke 18:18-27).\u3000 us look at the account given in the Gospel of with God.\u201d it is hard for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God.\u3000 \u78ba\u304b\u306b\u3001\u5bcc\u3081\u308b\u8005\u304c\u795e\u306e\u56fd\u306b\u5165\u308b\u306e\u306f\u96e3\u3057\u3044\u3002<\/p>\n<p>This is true of those who are wealthy in their so-called religious heritage, such as the Pharisees in Jesus\u2019 day, as well as those who are financially well off.\u3000 \u3053\u308c\u306f\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u306e\u6642\u4ee3\u306e\u30d1\u30ea\u30b5\u30a4\u4eba\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u3001\u3044\u308f\u3086\u308b\u5b97\u6559\u7684\u907a\u7523\u306b\u304a\u3044\u3066\u5bcc\u3093\u3067\u3044\u308b\u8005\u306b\u3082\u3001\u7d4c\u6e08\u7684\u306b\u88d5\u798f\u306a\u8005\u306b\u3082\u5f53\u3066\u306f\u307e\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Nicodemus who we looked at today was truly wealthy, \u4eca\u65e5\u53d6\u308a\u4e0a\u3052\u305f\u30cb\u30b3\u30c7\u30e2\u306f\u78ba\u304b\u306b\u88d5\u798f\u3067\u3057\u305f\u304c\u3001<\/p>\n<p>and yet he was able to enter the kingdom of God by believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Savior and Lord of his life.\u3000\u305d\u308c\u3067\u3082\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u30fb\u30ad\u30ea\u30b9\u30c8\u3092\u795e\u306e\u5b50\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u6551\u3044\u4e3b\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u81ea\u5206\u306e\u4eba\u751f\u306e\u4e3b\u3067\u3042\u308b\u3068\u4fe1\u3058\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3001\u795e\u306e\u56fd\u306b\u5165\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>He was able to do so, because indeed, the things that are impossible with people are possible with God.\u3000 as a result of his faith in Jesus, he was reduced to poverty and died as a pauper.\u3000 ruler.\u3000 \u00a0\u88d5\u798f\u306a\u9752\u5e74\u6307\u5c0e\u8005\u3068\u306e\u5bfe\u8a71\u306e\u76f4\u5f8c\u3001\u30a4\u30a8\u30b9\u69d8\u304c\u5f1f\u5b50\u305f\u3061\u306b\u8a9e\u3063\u305f\u8a00\u8449\u306b\u6ce8\u76ee\u3057\u3066\u307f\u307e\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Luke statement that Nicodemus needed to be born again cut to the heart of the affirmed strongly that one cannot see the kingdom of God without a second birth from above.\u3000 needed to experience the new birth of the Spirit and so do
