In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is<br \/>\nrich and can provide for everyone.<\/em><\/em><em>The<br \/>\nway of life can be free and beautiful.<\/em><em>But<br \/>\nwe have lost the way.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><em>Greed<br \/>\nhas poisoned men\u2019s souls \u2013 has barricaded the world with hate; has<br \/>\ngoose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.<\/em><em>We<br \/>\nhave developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives<br \/>\nabundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our<br \/>\ncleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than<br \/>\nmachinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and<br \/>\ngentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><em>The<br \/>\naeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of<br \/>\nthese inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal<br \/>\nbrotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions<br \/>\nthroughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children,<br \/>\nvictims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To<br \/>\nthose who can hear me I say \u201cDo not despair\u201d.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><em>The<br \/>\nmisery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who<br \/>\nfear the way of human progress: the hate of men will pass and dictators die and<br \/>\nthe power they took from the people, will return to the people and so long as<br \/>\nmen die [now] liberty will never perish\u2026<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><em>Soldiers<br \/>\n\u2013 don\u2019t give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you \u2013 who<br \/>\nregiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who<br \/>\ndrill you, diet you, treat you as cattle, as cannon fodder.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><em>Don\u2019t<br \/>\ngive yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and<br \/>\nmachine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have<br \/>\nthe love of humanity in your hearts. You don\u2019t hate \u2013 only the unloved hate.<br \/>\nOnly the unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers \u2013 don\u2019t fight for slavery, fight<br \/>\nfor liberty.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-size: 11pt;\"><em>In<br \/>\nthe seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written \u201d the kingdom of God is<br \/>\nwithin man \u201d \u2013 not one man, nor a group of men \u2013 but in all men \u2013 in you, the<br \/>\npeople.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><em>You<br \/>\nthe people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create<br \/>\nhappiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful, to<br \/>\nmake this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let\u2019s use<br \/>\nthat power \u2013 let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world<br \/>\nthat will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age<br \/>\nand security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but<br \/>\nthey lie. They do not fulfil their promise, they never will. Dictators free<br \/>\nthemselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfil that<br \/>\npromise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, do<br \/>\naway with greed, with hate and intolerance.
