How many of you love to go to the hospital or see a doctor? 病院や医者に行くのが好きだという人はどれくらい、いるでしょうか？I know, it is kind of a strange question to ask. なんだか変な質問ですね。Let me change the question. 質問を変えましょう。
How many of you go to the hospital or see a doctor every month? 毎月病院や医者に行く人はどれくらい、いますか？How many of you see a doctor at least once a year? 少なくとも年に一回は医者にかかる人は何人いますか？How many of you have not seen a doctor for at least five years? 少なくとも五年間、医者にかかっていない人は何人いますか？
I know that none of us really love to go to the hospital or see a doctor, but depending upon our health and medical needs, some of us will see a doctor more frequently. 病院や医者に行くのが好きな人はいないと思いますが、健康状態や医療の必要性によっては、頻繁に医者にかかる人もいます。The reason that we even have hospitals or doctors is because we have bodies that are decaying and are breaking down as we age. 病院や医者があるのは、私達の体が年をとるにつれて衰え、弱っていくからです。
And the reason that our bodies are decaying and are breaking down is all because of sin. 私達の体が衰え、弱っていくのは、すべて罪のせいです。Without sin in our lives and in this world, there would be no sickness and no death. 私達の人生とこの世界に罪がなければ、病気も死もありません。In Romans 6:23, it makes it very clear that death is a result of our sin.
ローマ人への手紙６章２３節には、死が私達の罪の結果であることがはっきりと示されています。However, we are also told in that same verse that we can have eternal life as a gift from God through His Son Jesus Christ. しかし同時に、私達は神の御子イエス・キリストを通して、神様からの贈り物である永遠の命を得ることができるとも、同じ節で教えられています。
Romans 6:23（ローマ書６章２３節）For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 罪の支払う報酬は死である。しかし神の賜物は、わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにおける永遠のいのちである。
We go to see a doctor when we do not feel well, or because we want to know if there is anything wrong with our bodies that we should know about. 私達が医師の診察を受けるのは、体調がすぐれないときや、自分の体に何か知っておくべき問題がないかを知りたい時です
There is a difference between going in for an annual physical and having to rush to urgent care or to the ER. 年に一度の健康診断に行くのと、急患やERに駆け込まなければならないのとでは違いがあります。However, in both cases, we are hoping for a good diagnosis from the doctor. しかし、どちらの場合も、私達は医師から適切な診断を受けたいと願っています。
How many of you have sat in a medical office with a doctor sitting across from you, and have heard the word, “cancer?” 医務室で医師と向かい合って座り、「癌」という言葉を聞いたことがある人はどれくらい、いるでしょうか？What were your first thoughts and reaction to hearing that word? その言葉を聞いた時、あなたは最初にどんなことを考え、どんな反応をしたでしょうか？For some, the word “cancer” can seem like a death sentence. ある人にとって「癌」という言葉は死の宣告に思えるかもしれません。
In July of 2020, I had to take my dad to the ER, because he was experiencing some abdominal pain. ２０２０年の７月、私は父が腹痛を起こしたため、ERに連れて行かなければなりませんでした。The cause of the pain was diagnosed as diverticulitis, and he was prescribed some antibiotics to deal with it. 痛みの原因は憩室炎と診断され、抗生物質を処方されました。This was during the COVID-19 pandemic, so I was not allowed to go inside with my dad as he was getting examined and cared for. COVID-19が流行している最中だったので、私は父の診察や治療のために中に入ることは許されませんでした。However, I was summoned to go inside to be with my dad to talk to the doctor. しかし、私は医師と話すために父と一緒に中に入るよう呼ばれました。
Because I didn’t know that my dad had diverticulitis when I was called inside, I wasn’t quite sure what my dad’s condition was and why I was being summoned. 中に呼ばれた時、私は父が憩室炎だとは知らなかったので、父の病状がどうなっているのか、なぜ私が呼ばれたのか、よく分かりませんでした。Once I got inside and was by my dad’s bedside, I was told by the doctor that “out of curiosity” they had done a CT scan of my father’s abdomen. 中に入り、父のベッドサイドにいると、医師から「興味本位で」父の腹部のCTスキャンをしたことを聞かされました。The doctor said that they found an aortic aneurism that required surgery, and if left untreated it could rupture at any time. そこで医師は大動脈瘤を見つけ、そのために手術が必要で、放っておけばいつ破裂してもおかしくないと言いました。Needless to say, my dad was quite shocked by this diagnosis. 言うまでもなく、父はこの診断にかなりのショックを受けました。
In fact, to him, it seemed like a death sentence. 実際、彼には死の宣告に思えたようです。After he returned home from his ER visit, he was weak. ERでの診察から帰宅後、父はとても弱くなっていました。He tried to prepare for the aortic aneurism surgery, but after they did some tests on his heart, he first had to have a stent procedure done. 大動脈瘤の手術に備えようとしましたが、心臓の検査をした結果、まず父はステント手術を受けることになりました。After he returned home from having the stent procedure, he became even weaker. ステント手術を終えて帰宅した後、彼はさらに弱くなってしまいました。I believe that his weakness came mainly because he was afraid of the aneurism rupturing. 動脈瘤が破裂するのが怖かったからだと思います。Thereafter, his primary battle was with depression and loss of appetite. その後、父の主な闘病は、うつ病と食欲不振となりました。Just after 2 months of his initial diagnosis of having an aortic aneurism, he was placed on hospice care. 大動脈瘤と診断されてから２ヵ月後、父はホスピスケアを受けることになりました。Another 2 months later, my dad went to be with the Lord on November 19 of 2020. そして、さらに２カ月後の２０２０年１１月１９日に父は主の元に逝きました。
The reason that I have shared these things with you, is because in reality, we all have the same diagnosis as it relates to our bodies because of sin. なぜ私がこのようなことを皆さんにお話ししたかというと、現実には、私達は皆、罪のために自分の身体に関して同じ診断を受けているからです。No matter how old we are and no matter how healthy or sick we may be, the diagnosis is the same for all of us. 何歳であろうと、健康であろうと病気であろうと、この診断はみな同じなのです。
That diagnosis given by God, ever since Adam and Eve sinned by eating “from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” has been: アダムとエバが「善悪を知る木から」食べて罪を犯して以来、神様から与えられたその診断はこのようなものなのです：
“you will surely die” (Genesis 2:17).「あなたは必ず死ぬ」（創世記２章１７節）。
This is not just a physical diagnosis but a spiritual one. これは単なる肉体的な診断ではなく、霊的な診断でもあるのです。Physical death is the separation of the soul from the body. The soul is what animates the body.肉体の死とは、魂が肉体から離れることです。 魂は肉体を動かすものです。When the soul leaves the body, it is dead.魂が肉体から離れる時、それは死にます。
Spiritual death means separation from God. 霊的な死とは、神からの分離を意味します。It is the condition that we all find ourselves in at physical birth as descendants of Adam and Eve.それは、アダムとエバの子孫として肉体的に生まれた時に、私達全員が背負わなければならないことです。This condition that we are born with is what is stated clearly in Romans 6:23, which was read earlier. 私達が生まれながらに持っているこの状態は、先に読んだローマ人への手紙６章２３節にはっきりと書かれています。
Romans 6:23（ローマ書６章２３節）For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 罪の支払う報酬は死である。しかし神の賜物は、わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにおける永遠のいのちである。
Yet, here in the same verse is the remedy for the diagnosis of death. しかし、同じ聖句の中に、死という診断に対する救済策があります。Although we deserve to die because of our sin, God has offered us eternal life as a free gift through the sending of His Son Jesus Christ. 私達は罪のゆえに死に値する者ですが、神様は御子イエス・キリストを送ってくださることにより、永遠の命を無償の贈り物として私達にお与えくださいました。
Where as Adam and Eve were told that they would surely die if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, アダムとエバが善悪を知る木から食べたら必ず死ぬと言われたように、in Jesus we are offered to eat from the tree of life (Genesis 2:9).イエス様において、私達はいのちの木から食べるように、差し出されているのです（創世記２章９節）。
And through Jesus, we are promised, “you will surely live.” そしてイエス様によって、私達は「あなたは必ず生きる」と約束されています。We see this in Jesus’ conversation with a woman named Martha who was mourning the death of her brother Lazarus. このことは、弟ラザロの死を悼むマルタという女性とイエス様の会話の中に見ることができます。
John 11:25-27（ヨハネ１１章２５節—２７節）
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world.” 25イエスは彼女に言われた、「わたしはよみがえりであり、命である。わたしを信じる者は、たとい死んでも生きる。26また、生きていて、わたしを信じる者は、いつまでも死なない。あなたはこれを信じるか」。27マルタはイエスに言った、「主よ、信じます。あなたがこの世にきたるべきキリスト、神の御子であると信じております」。
Please be aware that Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead soon after this. イエス様がラザロを死者の中からよみがえらせたのは、このすぐ後のことです。But even Lazarus died again. He could not escape eventual death. しかし、そのラザロもまた死にました。 彼は最終的な死から逃れることはできませんでした。
However, Jesus has promised to give us eternal life, if we would believe in Him. しかし、イエス様は、私達がイエス様を信じるなら、永遠の命を与えると約束してくださいました。Jesus clearly promises life that goes beyond the grave and our life here on this earth. イエス様は、墓場やこの地上での私達の人生を超えた人生をはっきりと約束しておられます。Accepting Jesus Christ in faith means to believe fully in the fact that He as the Son of God died for your sins and rose from the grave. 信仰をもってイエス・キリストを受け入れるとは、神の御子であるイエス様があなたの罪のために死なれ、墓場からよみがえられたという事実を完全に信じることなのです。
Romans 10:9-10（ローマ書１０章９節—１０節）9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 9すなわち、自分の口で、イエスは主であると告白し、自分の心で、神が死人の中からイエスをよみがえらせたと信じるなら、あなたは救われる。10なぜなら、人は心に信じて義とされ、口で告白して救われるからである。
Eternal life is a promise from God given to those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. 永遠の命は、イエス・キリストに信仰を置く者に与えられる神からの約束なのです。
John 3:14-16（ヨハネ３章１４節—１６節）14 “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” 14そして、ちょうどモーセが荒野でへびを上げたように、人の子もまた上げられなければならない。15それは彼を信じる者が、すべて永遠の命を得るためである」。16神はそのひとり子を賜わったほどに、この世を愛して下さった。それは御子を信じる者がひとりも滅びないで、永遠の命を得るためである。
John 5:24-25（ヨハネ５章２４節—２５節）24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. 25 Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.” 24よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。わたしの言葉を聞いて、わたしをつかわされたかたを信じる者は、永遠の命を受け、またさばかれることがなく、死から命に移っているのである。25よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。死んだ人たちが、神の子の声を聞く時が来る。今すでにきている。そして聞く人は生きるであろう。
John 6:40（ヨハネ６章４０節）“For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” わたしの父のみこころは、子を見て信じる者が、ことごとく永遠の命を得ることなのである。そして、わたしはその人々を終りの日によみがえらせるであろう」。
John 17:1-3（ヨハネ１７章１節—３節）1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” 1これらのことを語り終えると、イエスは天を見あげて言われた、「父よ、時がきました。あなたの子があなたの栄光をあらわすように、子の栄光をあらわして下さい。2あなたは、子に賜わったすべての者に、永遠の命を授けさせるため、万民を支配する権威を子にお与えになったのですから。3永遠の命とは、唯一の、まことの神でいますあなたと、また、あなたがつかわされたイエス・キリストとを知ることであります。
Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are assured that we have eternal life, fully knowing God, and living with Him forever. イエス・キリストを信じる信仰によって、私達は永遠の命を得、神を完全に知り、神と共に永遠に生きることが保証されます。God’s diagnosis of us due to sin is that we are spiritually dead and will physically die. 罪による神の診断は、私達は霊的に死んでおり、肉体的にも死ぬというものです。
But there is a remedy for this condition: Jesus Christ! しかし、この状態には救済策があるのです： それはイエス・キリストです！We are promised eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. イエス・キリストを信じる信仰によって、私達には永遠の命が約束されているのです。
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.我は聖霊を信ず。聖なる公同の教会、聖徒の交わり、罪のゆるし、からだのよみがえり、とこしえの命を信ず。アーメンThis is the last section of the Apostles’ Creed that we recite together every Sunday in our worship services. これは、私達が毎週日曜日の礼拝で共に唱えている使徒信条の最後の部分です。We began this message series on the Apostles’ Creed on February 25, affirming our belief “in God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth”. 私達は２月２５日に使徒信条に関するこのメッセージ・シリーズを始め、「天地の創造主である神への」私達の信仰を確認しました。
Today, we are concluding this message series by affirming our belief in “the life everlasting”. 今日、私達は「永遠のいのち」を信じることを確認し、このメッセージ・シリーズを締めくくります。But let me just go back one step, and talk also about our belief in “the resurrection of the body.” しかし、もう一歩戻って、「肉体の復活」に対する私達の信仰についてもお話ししましょう。
The clear teaching of both the Old and New Testament is that the body, which is subject to death, is also destined to be resurrected. 旧約聖書と新約聖書の明確な教えは、死の対象となる肉体もまた、復活する運命にあるということです。
Job 19:25-27（ヨブ記１９章２５節—２７節）25 “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth. 26 Even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh I shall see God; 27 whom I myself shall behold, and whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me!” 25わたしは知る、わたしをあがなう者は生きておられる、後の日に彼は必ず地の上に立たれる。26わたしの皮がこのように滅ぼされたのち、わたしは肉を離れて神を見るであろう。27しかもわたしの味方として見るであろう。わたしの見る者はこれ以外のものではない。わたしの心はこれを望んでこがれる。
This is an incredible declaration of faith in the resurrection by Job who was experiencing great suffering. これは、大きな苦しみを経験していたヨブによる、復活への驚くべき信仰宣言です。In the midst of extreme physical suffering, Job declared his faith in God as his Redeemer who will enable him to see God in his flesh. 肉体の極度の苦しみの中で、ヨブは、肉において神を見ることを可能にする贖い主である神への信仰を宣言したのです。Daniel spoke of a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteous. ダニエルは、正しい者も正しくない者も復活すると語りました。
Daniel 12:2（ダニエル書１２章２節）Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. また地のちりの中に眠っている者のうち、多くの者は目をさますでしょう。そのうち永遠の生命にいたる者もあり、また恥と、限りなき恥辱をうける者もあるでしょう。
The unrighteous ones are destined to a place of disgrace and everlasting contempt, while the righteous ones are destined to everlasting life. 不義なる者は不名誉と永遠の軽蔑の場所に運命づけられ、義なる者は永遠の命に運命づけられるのです。The prophet Hosea also wrote of the resurrection. 預言者ホセアも復活について書いています。
Hosea 13:14（ホセア書１３章１４節）Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from death? O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion will be hidden from My sight. わたしは彼らを陰府の力から、あがなうことがあろうか。彼らを死から、あがなうことがあろうか。死よ、おまえの災はどこにあるのか。陰府よ、おまえの滅びはどこにあるのか。あわれみは、わたしの目から隠されている。
Sheol, which in the New Testament is called Hades, is the place where the souls of all the dead, both righteous and unrighteous, went to before Jesus Christ ascended back to heaven. 新約聖書ではハデスと呼ばれるシェオルは、イエス・キリストが天に昇られる前に、義人も不義なる人も含めたすべての死者の魂が行った場所です。
Since Jesus’ ascension, the souls of believers (made righteous by Christ) go directly to heaven to be with God, イエス様の昇天以来、（キリストによって義とされた）信者の魂は、神と共にあるために直接、天国へ行きますが、
while those non-believers (unrighteous) will still go to Hades (also known as Sheol) until the time of God’s final judgment (Revelation 20:13).（義とされていない）信者ではない者の魂は、神の最後の審判の時まで（黙示録２０章１３節）、ハデス（シェオールとも呼ばれる）へ行きます。
Jesus also spoke of the resurrection of both the unrighteous and the righteous. イエス様はまた、不義なる者と義なる者の両方の復活についても語られました。
John 5:26-29（ヨハネ５章２６節—２９節）26 “For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; 27 and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29 and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.” 26「それは、父がご自分のうちに生命をお持ちになっていると同様に、子にもまた、自分のうちに生命を持つことをお許しになったからである。27そして子は人の子であるから、子にさばきを行う権威をお与えになった。28このことを驚くには及ばない。墓の中にいる者たちがみな神の子の声を聞き、29善をおこなった人々は、生命を受けるためによみがえり、悪をおこなった人々は、さばきを受けるためによみがえって、それぞれ出てくる時が来るであろう」。
Jesus said the unrighteous ones are destined for the resurrection of judgment, but the righteous ones are destined for the resurrection of life. イエス様は、正しくない者は裁きの復活に運命づけられているが、正しい者はいのちの復活に運命づけられていると言われました。
Thus, we see that the Bible teaches that everyone will receive a resurrected body. このように、聖書は全ての人が復活の体を受けると教えています。
The apostle Paul wrote in detail about the resurrection of the body in 1 Corinthians 15. 使徒パウロは、コリント人への手紙第一１５章で、体の復活について詳しく書いています。
1 Corinthians 15:22-26（第一コリント１５章２２節—２６節）22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 22アダムにあってすべての人が死んでいるのと同じように、キリストにあってすべての人が生かされるのである。23ただ、各自はそれぞれの順序に従わねばならない。最初はキリスト、次に、主の来臨に際してキリストに属する者たち、24それから終末となって、その時に、キリストはすべての君たち、すべての権威と権力とを打ち滅ぼして、国を父なる神に渡されるのである。25なぜなら、キリストはあらゆる敵をその足もとに置く時までは、支配を続けることになっているからである。26最後の敵として滅ぼされるのが、死である。
Here, we see that people will be resurrected in an orderly manner. People will not be resurrected all at once. ここでは、人々は整然と復活することが分かります。 一度に復活することはありません。
1 Corinthians 15:51-53（第一コリント１５章５１節—５３節）51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 51ここで、あなたがたに奥義を告げよう。わたしたちすべては、眠り続けるのではない。終りのラッパの響きと共に、またたく間に、一瞬にして変えられる。52というのは、ラッパが響いて、死人は朽ちない者によみがえらされ、わたしたちは変えられるのである。53なぜなら、この朽ちるものは必ず朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものは必ず死なないものを着ることになるからである。
Paul taught of a resurrection that leads to immortality. パウロは不死に至る復活について教えています。
Paul also quoted Hosea 13:14 in writing about the resurrection of the body. パウロはまた、肉体の復活について書く際に、ホセア書１３章１４節を引用しました。
1 Corinthians 15:54-57（第一コリント１５章５４節—５７節）54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 54この朽ちるものが朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものが死なないものを着るとき、聖書に書いてある言葉が成就するのである。55「死は勝利にのまれてしまった。死よ、おまえの勝利は、どこにあるのか。死よ、おまえのとげは、どこにあるのか」。56死のとげは罪である。罪の力は律法である。57しかし感謝すべきことには、神はわたしたちの主イエス・キリストによって、わたしたちに勝利を賜わったのである。
It is made very clear here that sin is the cause of death, but the victory over death comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. 罪は死の原因ですが、死に対する勝利は私達の主イエス・キリストによってもたらされることが、ここにはっきりと示されています。
In Jesus Christ, we are given eternal life and we are able to live with Him forever with a resurrected body. イエス・キリストにあって、私達は永遠の命を与えられ、復活した肉体を持って、永遠に主と共に生きることができるのです。
Having seen my dad’s weak body right before he entered into the presence of God, as well as other church family members near to or on the last day of their time here on earth, 神の御前に入る直前の父の弱った体や、この地上での最後の日を間近に控えた、あるいは迎えた他の教会の家族を見てきた私は、
I am truly thankful that they, and all of us, will be given a resurrected body. 彼らや私達全員に復活の体が与えられることを心から感謝しています。
We will not be like zombies. We will be given a healthy and fit resurrected body. 私達はゾンビのようにはなりません。 健康な復活の体が与えられるのです。
A body that will be without the decaying effects of sin and will not break down. 罪の腐敗の影響を受けず、壊れてしまうことのない体です。

The current worldwide life expectancy is 73.33 years. It has increased gradually every year since 1950, when the worldwide life expectancy was 45.51 years. 現在の世界平均寿命は７３．３３歳です。 平均寿命が４５.５１歳だった１９５０年以降、毎年少しずつ延びています。
The Bible agrees with the statistics of life expectancy given for today. 聖書は、今日の平均寿命の統計と一致しています。
Psalm 90:10（詩篇９０篇１０節）As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, or if due to strength, eighty years, yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; for soon it is gone and we fly away.
So, we all know that our time on this earth is limited, it is temporary. だから私達は皆、この地上での時間が限られていること、一時的なものであることを知っています。
However, as Christians, we believe in and affirm in “the life everlasting”. しかし、クリスチャンとして、私達は「永遠の命」を信じ、確証しています。
Because of time, we will not read all of Romans 8, but chapter 8 of the book of Romans gives us assurance of eternal life in Jesus Christ. 時間の関係で、ローマ人への手紙８章をすべて読むことはしませんが、ローマ人への手紙８章には、イエス・キリストにある永遠の命が保証されています。
It begins with the assurance that the believer is no longer under any condemnation, no matter how often they may personally sin. ローマ人への手紙８章は、信仰者が個人的にどんなに罪を犯そうとも、もはや断罪されることはないという保証から始まるのです。
Romans 8:1（ローマ書８章１節）Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. こういうわけで、今やキリスト・イエスにある者は罪に定められることがない。
In verses 9-13, we are reminded that the Holy Spirit is present within the believer, and this Spirit is not capable of spiritually dying. ９節から１３節では、聖霊が信者の内に存在すること、そしてこの聖霊は霊的に死ぬことはないことを思い起こさせます。
Romans 8:10-11（ローマ書８章１０節—１１節）10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 10もし、キリストがあなたがたの内におられるなら、からだは罪のゆえに死んでいても、霊は義のゆえに生きているのである。11もし、イエスを死人の中からよみがえらせたかたの御霊が、あなたがたの内に宿っているなら、キリスト・イエスを死人の中からよみがえらせたかたは、あなたがたの内に宿っている御霊によって、あなたがたの死ぬべきからだをも、生かしてくださるであろう。
In verses 14-17 we are reminded that the believer is an heir of God, who will not lose their inheritance. １４節から１７節では、信仰者は神の相続人であり、相続地を失うことはないことを私達に思い起こさせます。
Romans 8:16-17（ローマ書８章１６節—１７節）16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. 16御霊みずから、わたしたちの霊と共に、わたしたちが神の子であることをあかしして下さる。17もし子であれば、相続人でもある。神の相続人であって、キリストと栄光を共にするために苦難をも共にしている以上、キリストと共同の相続人なのである。
In verses 28-30 we are reminded that the divine purpose is that every believer who has been justified, will someday also be glorified. ２８節から３０節では、義とされた全ての信者が、いつの日か栄光を受けることが神の目的であることを思い起こさせます。
Romans 8:28-30（ローマ書８章２８節—３０節）28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. 28神は、神を愛する者たち、すなわち、ご計画に従って召された者たちと共に働いて、万事を益となるようにして下さることを、わたしたちは知っている。29神はあらかじめ知っておられる者たちを、更に御子のかたちに似たものとしようとして、あらかじめ定めて下さった。それは、御子を多くの兄弟の中で長子とならせるためであった。30そして、あらかじめ定めた者たちを更に召し、召した者たちを更に義とし、義とした者たちには、更に栄光を与えて下さったのである。
In verses 35-39, Paul points out that for believers, nothing outside of them, nothing inside of them, ３５節から３９節で、パウロは信仰者にとって、自分の外側にあるものも、自分の内側にあるものも、
not even themselves can separate them from the love of God. 自分自身さえも、神の愛から引き離すことはできないと指摘しています。

The very meaning of the word “everlasting” and “eternal” rules out the possibility of the loss of salvation, 「絶えることがない」と「永遠」という言葉の意味そのものが、救いを失う可能性を排除しているのです。
because if “everlasting” means anything, it means “forever.”なぜなら「絶えることがないこと」が何かを意味するなら、それは「永遠」を意味するからです。
If someone could lose their salvation, then it is not eternal, but temporary instead. もし誰かが救いを失う可能性があるとすれば、それは永遠ではなく、一時的なものです。
The evidence for eternal security is the finished work of Jesus Christ, in that our sins were still future at the time when Jesus died for them. 永遠の安全の証拠は、私達の罪がイエス様が私達のために死なれた時、私達の罪がまだ将来にあったとしても、イエス・キリストの完成された御業です。
The very fact that the work of Jesus was finished, the fact that He does not need to come and die again, イエス様の御業が完成されたという事実、すなわちイエス様が再び来て死ぬ必要がないという事実は、
shows that those who have received the benefits of His work cannot lose it. イエス様の御業の恩恵を受けた者はそれを失うことができないということを示しています。
1 John 5:11-12（第一ヨハネ５章１１節—１２節）11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 11そのあかしとは、神が永遠のいのちをわたしたちに賜わり、かつ、そのいのちが御子のうちにあるということである。12御子を持つ者はいのちを持ち、神の御子を持たない者はいのちを持っていない。
Eternal life is not something that is promised only for the future. Eternal life is given to us at the moment that we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ. 永遠の命は、未来だけに約束されたものではありません。永遠の命はイエス・キリストを信じる信仰によって救われた瞬間に与えられるものです。
We boldly declare that we believe in the life everlasting. 私達は、永遠の命を信じることを大胆に宣言します。
This life that is eternal is based on our relationship with God as our Heavenly Father made possible through the perfect and finished work of redemption of His Son Jesus Christ. この永遠の命は、御子イエス・キリストの完全で完成された贖いの御業によって可能となった、天の父である神との関係に基づいているのです。
Therefore, let us be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. だから、堅く立って動かされず、いつも全力を注いで主のわざに励みましょう。
As we prepare ourselves to partake of the communion, let us come with humility, gratitude, and in full assurance of the fact that we have life everlasting because of Jesus’ perfect work that He accomplished at the cross. 私達が聖餐式にあずかるにあたり、謙遜に、感謝と共に、イエス様が十字架で成し遂げてくださった完全な御業のゆえに、私達は永遠のいのちを持っているという事実を十分に確信しながらあずかりましょう。
