イエス・キリストが天に戻られる前と、後の違いの最も大きなことは、イエス様が天に戻られた後に、この世界に「教会」というものが生まれたということです。このような、それまでにはなかった「新しいもの」についてパウロは獄の中で祈り、黙想していたのでしょう（上記のエペソ書はパウロが獄の中で書き記したものです）。
「主よ、教会とは何ですか？あなたはこの教会に何を求めているのですか？」その時点で、彼は全ての時間を教会の開拓と形成に注ぎこんでいました。そのことをこれからも確信をもって続けるために、彼はこれらの問いに対する神様からの答えを必要としました。そのような中で神様は彼に示されたのでしょう。「パウロよ、これからあなたは「教会」を通して、私の多種多様な知恵を知るのだ」
それは単なるパウロの閃きということではなくて、それこそが「わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにあって実現された神の永遠の目的にそうものなのだ」ということをパウロは悟ったのでしょう。

「聖徒の交わりを信ず」：神の奥義なる教会

先々週は「教会を信じる」ということについて、教会とは何なのかということを、本多牧師が話してくださいました。今日は続く使徒信条の「聖徒の交わりを信ず」という言葉から、私達の互いの交わりについてお話ししたいと願っています。
本来、信仰をもつということは極めて個人的なことです。信仰の決断とはあの人、この人の顔色をうかがってなされるものではなく、それは全く神様と自分との関係においてなされるものだからです。
その関係は上におられる神様と下に生きる私達を繋ぐ一本の線のようです。しかし、神様はその私達に左右に延びる横の線もお示しになりました。そう、神を信じる者とされた私達に対して神様は、あるものをこの世界に誕生させたのです。
それは「教会」です。
神様が生み出した、その教会に今、私達は集まっています。この教会で私達は今、主に礼拝を捧げています。
今日はまずエペソ書を開きたいと思います。エペソ人への手紙はローマにおいて投獄されていたパウロによって書かれたものです。この手紙は、その名のごとくエペソにある教会の人々に宛てて書かれた手紙であると同時に、アジア地域にある教会に回覧された手紙であるといわれています。
それらの教会は土地柄、内外から多種多様な人間を受け入れる教会であり、それゆえに多くの可能性と祝福を受ける場所でもありました。しかし、同時に、様々な人間的な試みを受けることも多々あり、そのことを踏まえて、パウロはこの手紙を書いて、諸教会を励まし、また諭しています。今日は特にエペソ人への手紙の３章１節から１１節を見ていきたく願っています。少し長いのですが、読んでみましょう。
エペソ３章１節－１１節
1こういうわけで、あなたがた異邦人のためにキリスト・イエスの囚人となっているこのパウロ―2わたしがあなたがたのために神から賜わった恵みの務について、あなたがたはたしかに聞いたであろう。3すなわち、すでに簡単に書きおくったように、わたしは啓示によって奥義を知らされたのである。4あなたがたはそれを読めば、キリストの奥義をわたしがどう理解しているかがわかる。5この奥義は、いまは、御霊によって彼の聖なる使徒たちと預言者たちとに啓示されているが、前の時代には、人の子らに対して、そのように知らされてはいなかったのである。6それは、異邦人が、福音によりキリスト・イエスにあって、わたしたちと共に神の国をつぐ者となり、共に一つのからだとなり、共に約束にあずかる者となることである。7わたしは、神の力がわたしに働いて、自分に与えられた神の恵みの賜物により、福音の僕とされたのである。8すなわち、聖徒たちのうちで最も小さい者であるわたしにこの恵みが与えられたが、それは、キリストの無尽蔵の富を異邦人に宣べ伝え、9更にまた、万物の造り主である神の中に世々隠されていた奥義にあずかる務がどんなものであるかを、明らかに示すためである。10それは今、天上にあるもろもろの支配や権威が、教会をとおして、神の多種多様な知恵を知るに至るためであって、11わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにあって実現された神の永遠の目的にそうものである。
パウロはここで言います。私に神の奥義が知らされたと。彼はここで四度もこの奥義という言葉を言っているのです。その奥義とは何でしょうか。パウロは、その奥義が何なのか、はっきりと書いています。６節、
エペソ３章６節
それは、異邦人が、福音によりキリスト・イエスにあって、わたしたちと共に神の国をつぐ者となり、共に一つのからだとなり、共に約束にあずかる者となることである。
「異邦人」って誰のこと？それは当時、ユダヤ人以外の全ての人を指して言われました。この観点から見れば、私達も異邦人です。ここには生まれも育ちも違う異邦人、言葉や年齢が違う異邦人が集っています。その者達がキリストにあって救われ、神の国を継ぐ者となり、共に一つの体となりました。このことをパウロは「神の奥義」と書いたのです。
皆さん、私達は自覚しているでしょうか。私達は毎週、ここで、この「神の奥義」を目の当たりにしているのです。そして、そんな私達が集う所、その一つの体について聖書は呼び名をつけています。そう、それが「教会」なのです。
よく「わたしは聖書の教えは好きだけれど、教会には馴染めない」と言われる方がいます。そのような方たちにとって、今日、多くの教会が放映しているオンライン礼拝はとても便利なものかもしれません。
実際に私達の教会でも毎週、この礼拝をライブ放映しています。そこには理由があります。私達がオンラインで礼拝を放映している理由は、病気や諸々の事情や、地理的制限により、やむを得ず、教会に来ることができない人のために、この礼拝を放送しています。しかし、ご理解いただきたいのは「わざわざ教会まで来なくてもいいですから、家で礼拝を捧げてください」と、皆さんの便利さのために、この礼拝は放映しているのではないということです。なぜ？答えはシンプルです。「我々の便利さの追求」は「我々のために一人子を捧げてくださった神様を礼拝する」こと以上のものにはならないからです。
私のオフィスドアにモーセが十戒を掲げている写真があり、こう書かれています。厳密に言うと、クラウドからデータをダウンロードするタブレットを手にした最初の人物はモーセでした。
神様はクラウド（雲）の中から、その言葉をタブレット、すなわち石の板に刻み、モーセに渡したのです。言うまでもない、この板は十戒です。その後、ヨハネはイエス・キリストについて、こう書いています。
ヨハネ１章１４節「そして言は肉体となり、わたしたちのうちに宿った。わたしたちはその栄光を見た。それは父のひとり子としての栄光であって、めぐみとまこととに満ちていた」
イエス・キリストはクラウド（雲）を突き抜けて、人の肉をとられ、この地に来られ、神の言葉に生きるということが、どういうことであるのか、その肉体をもって私達に明らかにしてくださいました。かつてクラウド（雲）の中から、石の板に刻まれた言葉をもって語られた神は、人の前に現れ、人の面前で語り、人と共に旅をし、人と共に食事をしたのです。
私達はオンライン礼拝こそ、今日の最新の礼拝方法だと思うかもしれません。教会に集って捧げる礼拝はもはや今の時代、古いのだと思う方がいるかもしれません。しかし、実際はその逆なのではないでしょうか。
主イエスが雲（クラウド）を突き抜けて、その肉体と共に私達の元にきてくださったように、実際に私達の肉体と共に、教会に集い、捧げる礼拝こそが、新しい時代の礼拝なのです。
それでは私達が一つところにやってきて、そこで礼拝を捧げることにはどんな意味があるのでしょうか。それは「教会」とは何かということにもつながる問いかけとなります。先にこのエペソ書をパウロはローマの獄中で書いたと言いましたが、人がそのような隔離された所に一人静かにおりますと、色々なことを考えます。
パウロもそこで自分の先祖達に現れた旧約聖書における神、そして、その神とイエス・キリストについて瞑想し、さらに先祖の時代にはなかった「教会」とは何なのかということを神に祈り求めたのでしょう。そして、彼はその教会について、驚くべきことを記しているのです。すなわち、彼はこう記しています。

それでは「キリスト・イエスにあって実現されたこと」とは何でしょうか。キリストにあって実現されたもの、それは言うまでもないイエス・キリストの十字架の愛です。
私達が教会を通して神の多種多様な知恵を知ることは、神が私達を愛しているということを知る、その永遠の目的に叶うことなのだとパウロは知ったのです。このことを知ったパウロは確信をもって、膝をかがめて神に向かって、祈りました。彼は自分の残りの人生を捧げるに値するもの見つけたのです。その確信がこの後に書かれています。
エペソ３章１４節から１９節 14こういうわけで、わたしはひざをかがめて、15天上にあり地上にあって「父」と呼ばれているあらゆるものの源なる父に祈る。16どうか父が、その栄光の富にしたがい、御霊により、力をもってあなたがたの内なる人を強くして下さるように、17また、信仰によって、キリストがあなたがたの心のうちに住み、あなたがたが愛に根ざし愛を基として生活することにより、18すべての聖徒と共に、その広さ、長さ、高さ、深さを理解することができ、19また人知をはるかに越えたキリストの愛を知って、神に満ちているもののすべてをもって、あなたがたが満たされるように、と祈る。
パウロはこれらの言葉が向けられる者達を「あなたがた」と呼んでいます。このことにより、ここでパウロは教会のために祈っているということが分かります。すなわちこれは個人に向けられた言葉ではなく、教会に向けられたパウロの祈りなのです。
使徒信条はこう言います。「我は聖徒の交わりを信ず」。そう、私達は互いの交わりを信じるのです。イエス・キリストが私達のために十字架で死んでくださった、その愛に私達は生かされている。その愛に根ざし、愛を基として生活する、神は、イエス・キリストは、聖霊は、そのことを私達に望まれていることを私達は信じるのです。
「聖徒の交わりを信ず」という使徒信条は、英語ではと記しています。「Communion」とは「交わり」を表すと共に、「主の聖餐」を表すことを心に留めましょう。
私達は主の聖餐において、私達のために裂かれた主の体なるパン、私達のために流された主の御血を共にいただくのです。私達の交わりはイコール、主イエスにある愛の交わりです。パウロはこの神に満ちている全てをもって、あなたがたが満たされるようにと祈るというのです。
この御言葉を読みながら、私は思いました。キリストの教えには広さ、長さ、高さ、深さがあるのだと。そして、そうであるのなら、その無限の大きさと長さ、遥かに見上げる、その高さ、そして、私達には届き得ない深さを、この人生を通して、少しでも知りたい。
これらの全てを極めることなどは到底できませんが、この残された人生、これらのことに目を開かれ、神の偉大さに気がつかされたい。そして、このことは単独でするのか。一人で家に篭ってするのか。一人でモニターの前でするのか。いいえ、パウロは言います。
エペソ３章１８節から１９節 18すべての聖徒と共に、その広さ、長さ、高さ、深さを理解することができ、19また人知をはるかに越えたキリストの愛を知って、神に満ちているもののすべてをもって、あなたがたが満たされるように、
私にとって「全ての聖徒」とは何か？そう、それは皆さんお一人お一人なのです。神様は教会に集う者達を通して、そこで語られる聖書の言葉を通して、多種多様な神の知恵を私達に教えようとしてくださる。どうか、覚えてください。それはあなたの知恵でも、私の知恵でもなく、神の知恵なのです。
今日の世界、ジャンクとされるような情報で満ちています。そんな世に生きる、神に造られた人間にとりまして、神の知恵に預からせていただけること以上の価値と光栄がありますでしょうか。そのことが起きるのが、このサンディエゴ日本人教会でなされる私達の互いの交わりなのです。
先日の日曜の午後、私たちがチャーチピクニックを楽しんでいる時、ぺトコパークではパドレスとヤンキースのゲームがなされていました。同時刻、アドミラルベーカーズパークでは、私達の教会のソフトボールが繰り広げられました。
そこではホームランが出ました。ファインプレーが生まれました。そして、エラーが出ました。転んでしまう人がいました。ゲームは接戦となり、７対６という緊迫した、素晴らしいゲームとなりました。
その試合の後に撮りました写真がこの写真ですこの写真を見て、私が何よりも嬉しいのは、ここには子供から大人まで、様々な生活や文化背景を持っている方達が写っているということです。
どうぞ、今日、心に刻んでお帰りください。この交わりの中に、世々、隠され続けてきた神の奥義があるということを！この交わりの中に、神の多種多様な知恵があるということを！この交わりの中に、主イエスの広さ、長さ、高さ、深さがあるということを！
神の愛はこの私達の交わりの中にあらわにされるのです。パウロはこのことを主から示され悟った時に、何と嬉しかったことでしょうか。ですから、パウロは書いたのです。
エペソ３章８節－９節 8すなわち、聖徒たちのうちで最も小さい者であるわたしにこの恵みが与えられたが、それは、キリストの無尽蔵の富を異邦人に宣べ伝え、9更にまた、万物の造り主である神の中に世々隠されていた奥義にあずかる務がどんなものであるかを、明らかに示すためである。
彼は自分が人生をかけることは「万物の造り主である神の中に世々隠されていた奥義にあずかる務めを明らかにすること」なのだと言ったのです。”彼は自分の人生を捧げるほどに価値ある務めを見出したのです！そのことの確信と覚悟をパウロはコロサイ１章２４節でも書いています。
コロサイ１章２４節「今わたしは、あなたがたのための苦難を喜んで受けており、キリストのからだなる教会のために、キリストの苦しみのなお足りないところを、わたしの肉体をもって補っている」
私はキリストの体なる教会のために受ける苦難を喜んで受けているのだ！キリストの苦しみのなお足りないところを、私の肉体をもって補っているのだ！
この神の奥義なる主の教会について、その教会における私達の交わりについて、２０００年もの間、これまで色々なことが言われてきました。そこには悪意に満ちたコメントがありました。教会が悔い改めなければならないような過ちも多くありました。そして、覚悟してください、終わりの時、教会は茨の道を通らばければならないと、聖書には記されています。
私達がそれらに直面する時に、心の中に思うかもしれません。「教会なんか・・・「主の交わりなんか・・・」もしかしたら、パウロとて人間、彼の思いの中にもそんな思いがよぎることがあったかもしれません。「やってられるか」というような思いが彼の心をよぎったかもしれません。
しかし、パウロは教会とは何かについて主から教えていただいたのです。使徒行伝２０章２８節で彼は、主の体なる教会に仕えている同労者に向かって言っているのです。
使徒行伝２０章２８節「どうかあなたがた自身に気をつけ、また、すべての群れに気をくばっていただきたい。聖霊は神が御子の血であがない取られた神の教会を牧させるために、あなたがたをその群れの監督者にお立てになったのである」
教会とは神が御子の血であがないとられたもの。彼は夫と妻について語る際、その関係をキリストと教会に例えました。
エペソ５章２５節 夫たる者よ。キリストが教会を愛してそのためにご自身をささげられたように妻を愛しなさい。
教会とはキリストが愛して、そのためにご自身を捧げられたもの。私達の愛する主が、その血によって買い取られた教会、その命を捧げるまでに愛された教会を、そして、そこでなされる互いの交わりを、私達が愛し、大切にすること、そのことを主は私達に願われているのです。
“I Believe the Communion of Saints”: The Church the Mystery of God

The week before last, Pastor Honda spoke about “believing the Church” and what the church is all about. Today I hope to speak about our fellowship with one another, continuing on with the words of the Apostles’ Creed, “I believe the communion of saints”.
Primarily, having faith is an extremely personal thing. This is because the decision of faith is not made by observing how others view you, but is made entirely in relation to God and oneself.
The relationship is like a line connecting God above and us below. However, God also showed us a horizontal line extending from left to right. Yes, God has given birth to something in this world for those of us who have been made believers in Him.
It is the “Church”.
We are now gathered as the church that God has created. As this church, we are now offering worship to the Lord.
Today, to start off, I would like to open the book of Ephesians. The letter to the Ephesians was written by Paul while imprisoned in Rome. This letter is said to have been written to the people of the church in Ephesus, as its name implies, and at the same time circulated to the churches in the region of Asia.
Those churches were churches that, because of their location, received a wide variety of people from inside and outside the country, and were therefore places of many possibilities and blessings.
At the same time, however, they are often subjected to various human trials, which is why Paul wrote this letter to encourage and admonish the churches. Today, I especially would like to look at Ephesians 3:1-11. It is a bit long, but let us read it.Ephesians 3:1-11
1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. 7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of His power. 8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, 9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to His eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul says here. The mystery of God was made known to me. He says this word “mystery” four times here. What is this mystery? Paul writes clearly what this mystery is about in verse 6.
Ephesians 3:6
This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
Who were the “Gentiles?” It was said in reference to all non-Jews at the time. From this perspective, we are also Gentiles. Gentiles of different birth and upbringing, different languages and ages are gathered here. They were saved in Christ and became heirs of the Kingdom of God, and together they became one body. This is what Paul wrote about being the “mystery of God”.
People, are we aware of this? We see this “mystery of God” here every week. And the Bible has a name for such a place where we gather, that one body.Yes, that is what “church” is.
People often say, “I like the teachings of the Bible, but I don’t fit in the church”.For such people, the online worship services that many churches provide today may be very convenient.
In fact, our church livestreams this service every week. There is a reason for that.
The reason we are livestreaming the service online is for those who, due to illness, various circumstances, or geographical limitations, are unable to come. But please understand that we are not livestreaming this service for your convenience, saying, “You don’t have to come all the way to the church facility, you can worship at home”. Why? The answer is simple. For “our pursuit of convenience” is not greater than “worshiping God, who gave His only begotten Son for us”.
I have a picture of Moses holding up the Ten Commandments on my office door, and it says:.
Technically, Moses was the first person with a tablet downloading data from the cloud.
From the cloud, God engraved the words on tablets, that is slabs of stone, and gave them to Moses. Needless to say, these slabs of stone were the Ten Commandments.
This happened in the time of Moses. Later, John wrote concerning Jesus Christ:
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jesus Christ pierced through the clouds, took human flesh, came to this earth, and revealed to us in His flesh what it means to live according to the Word of God. God, who once spoke from the cloud with words engraved on tablets of stone, appeared before men, spoke in their presence, traveled with them, and ate with them.
We might think that online worship is the newest way to worship today. Some may think that gathering in a church building for worship is old-fashioned in this day and age.
But in fact, the opposite may be true. Just as the Lord Jesus came to us with His body through the cloud, the worship service that we actually gather and offer in the church building with our bodies is the worship service of the new era.
So what does it mean for us to come to one place and offer worship there? It also leads to the question of what the “church” is.
I mentioned earlier that Paul wrote Ephesians in a Roman prison, and when one is alone and quiet in such an isolated place, one thinks about many things.
Paul also meditated there on God in the Old Testament, who appeared to his forefathers, and on that God and Jesus Christ. Furthermore, he must have prayed asking God what the “church” is, which did not exist at the time of his forefathers. And he writes something remarkable about that church. In other words, he writes:
Ephesians 3:10-11
10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to His eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The most significant difference between before and after Jesus Christ’s return to heaven is that the “church” was born in this world after Jesus returned to heaven.It is likely that Paul prayed and meditated in prison about these “new things” that had not been there before.
“Lord, what is the Church? What is it that you desire of the Church?” At that point, he was devoting all his time to the development and formation of the Church. To continue to do so with conviction, he needed answers from God to these questions.
In the midst of all this, God must have shown him. “Paul, from now on you will know My manifold wisdom through the ‘Church’.”
It was not just a flash of Paul’s inspiration, but Paul must have realized that this was “according to His eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (verse 11)
What then is that which was “accomplished in Christ Jesus”? What is accomplished in Christ, needless to say, is the love of the cross of Jesus Christ.
Paul knew that our knowledge of God’s manifold wisdom through the Church would fulfill that eternal purpose of knowing that God loves us. When Paul learned of this, he was so convinced that he kneeled and prayed to God. He had found something worthy of devoting the rest of his life to. That conviction is written in what follows.
Ephesians 3:14-19
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Paul calls those to whom these words are directed as “you”. This makes it clear that Paul is praying for the Church here. In other words, this is not Paul’s prayer addressed to an individual, but to the Church.
The Apostles’ Creed says: “I believe in the communion of saints.” Yes, we believe fellowship with one another. Jesus Christ died on the cross for us, and in His love we are kept alive. We believe that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit want us to be rooted in that love and to live based on that love.
In English, the Apostles’ Creed says, “I believe the communion of saints”. Keep in mind that the word “communion” represents “fellowship” as well as the “Lord’s holy communion”.
In the Lord’s holy communion, we share in the bread that is His body broken for us and His blood shed for us. Our communion equals the fellowship of love in the Lord Jesus. Paul says that he prays that you may be filled with all that this God has to offer.
As I read these verses, I thought to myself. That there is a width, length, height, and depth to Christ’s teachings. And if so, I would like to know a little of its infinite size and length, far up, its height, and the depths we cannot reach, through this life.
I can never master all of these things, but I hope that in the life that remains for me, my eyes will be opened to these things and I will be made aware of the greatness of God. And do I do this alone? Do I do it alone, holed up in my house? Do I do it alone in front of a monitor? No, Paul says.
Ephesians 3:18-19
18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
What does “all the Lord’s holy people” mean to me? Yes, it is each and every one of you. God seeks to teach us a wide variety of God’s wisdom through those who gather in His church and through the words of the Bible spoken there. Please, please remember. It is not your wisdom, nor mine, but God’s wisdom.
Today’s world is filled with information that is considered junk. What could be more valuable and honorable for a human being, created by God, to be entrusted with God’s wisdom in such a world? It is our fellowship with each other here at the San Diego Japanese Christian Church that makes this happen.
Last Sunday afternoon, while we were enjoying a church picnic, the Padres and Yankees game was being played at Petco Park. At the same time, our church’s softball game was taking place at Admiral Baker Park.
A home run was hit there. Fine plays were made. And then there were errors. Someone fell down. The game was close and tense, 7-6, a great game.
I took this photo after that game. What pleases me most about this picture is that here are people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, from children to adults.
Please, take this to heart as you leave today. In this fellowship, there is the mystery of God that has been hidden from other generations! That in this fellowship there is a wide variety of God’s wisdom! That in this fellowship is the width, length, height, and depth of the Lord Jesus!
God’s love is revealed in this fellowship of ours. How happy Paul must have been when the Lord showed him this and he realized it. That is why Paul wrote:
Ephesians 3:8-9
8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, 9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
He said that his life’s work was “to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.” He found the ministry worthy enough to dedicate his life to it! Paul also wrote of his conviction and resolve to do so in Colossians 1:24.

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

Many things have been said about the Lord’s Church, this mystery of God, and our fellowship in that Church over the past 2000 years. There were comments there that were full of malicious intent. There were also many mistakes that the Church had to repent for. And be prepared, the Bible says that in the end times, the Church will have to go through a thorny path.
When we face them, we may think in our minds. I don’t want to be a part of the church . . .I don’t want the Lord’s fellowship . . .Perhaps even Paul, a human being, may have had such thoughts in his mind. He may have had thoughts like, “I can’t do this”.
But Paul was taught by the Lord about what the church is. In Acts 20:28 he is addressing his fellow workers serving the Lord’s body, the church.
Acts 20:28. “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.”
The church is what God has redeemed with the blood of His Son. When he spoke of a husband and a wife, he compared their relationship to Christ and the Church.
Ephesians 5:25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her
The Church is what Christ loved and gave Himself up for. The Lord wants us to love and cherish the Church that He purchased with His blood, the Church that He loved so much that He gave His life for it, and the fellowship that takes place there.
So we will continue to confess our faith until the end of the world. “I believe the holy Christian church, the communion of the saints”.

２）エペソ３章１節から１１節を読みましょう。このところには「奥義」が四回、記されています（３、４、５、９）。この奥義が何であるかが６節に書かれています。私達がこの神の奥義を知る時に、どんな思いが心にわいてきますか。
３）オンライン礼拝の利点は何ですか。忙しい現代、一つところに集まって礼拝を捧げることは、オンライン礼拝にとって変わるべきでしょうか。なぜですか？ヨハネ１章１４節のイエス様の受肉は何を暗示していますか。

５）エペソ３章１４節から１９節を読みましょう。この言葉が教会に向けて語られていることは、どこから分かりますか。ここから教会が共有すべき第一のものは何だと分かりますか。
６）上記１８節には「すべての聖徒と共に」と書かれています。このことは、キリストの広さ、長さ、高さ、深さを理解することは単独でなされることではないと書かれています。このことは教会がどんな場所であるかということを示していますか。あなたにはどんな経験がありますか。
７）神様が与えてくださった教会について知った時、パウロはどんな覚悟と情熱をその心の中にもちましたか（エペソ３章８節とコロサイ１章２４節）。
８）使徒行伝２０章２８節、エペソ５章２５節、を読みましょう。イエス・キリストが教会に対してなしてくださったことを知る時に、あなたの教会に対する思いはどう変わりますか。
