私達は家の外装について考えます。内装について考えます。どんな屋根にするのか、どんな窓にするのか。そして、そこにどんな家具を置き、壁には何を飾るのか。
私たちはハネムーンについて考えます。どこに行こうか、何を食べようか。着る服、乗る車について考えます。どんな仕事をしようか、どこに住もうかとも考えます。それは、それでよく考えて、楽しまれたらいいでしょう。
しかし、その前にすべきことがあると主は私達に問いかけます。「あなたの土台は大丈夫か？」あなたには何の不足もないかもしれない。しかし「あなたの土台は大丈夫か？」
私達が見えることだけを追い続けていると、必ず、人生のどこかで行き詰まります。神は、私達を肉体と心だけで作られたのではなく、ご自身と同じように霊的な存在として私たちを創造したからです。信仰をもって見えないものを見ていく、信仰をもって考えていく、信仰をもって備える。そのような人をイエス・キリストは賢い人と呼んだのです。

堅固な土台あっての人生

２０２３年の一月から始まりました「山上の教え」のメッセージシリーズも今日で終わります。わずか３章の聖書の言葉でしたが、ここに至るまでに１４ヶ月かかりました。来週からは私達が毎週、唱えています使徒信条を一つずつ、見ていきたいと願っています。今日のテキストとなります山上の教え最後の聖書の箇所を読ませていただきます。これはイエス・キリストが語られた譬話をマタイという人が書き記したものです。
マタイ７章２４節-２７節 24 それで、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いて行う者を、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人に比べることができよう。25 雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけても、倒れることはない。岩を土台としているからである。26 また、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いても行わない者を、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に比べることができよう。27 雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけると、倒れてしまう。そしてその倒れ方はひどいのである」。
イエス様は今日、二つの家について私達に語りかけます。読んでお分かりのように、イエス様はいつも庶民が理解できる話をされました。しかし、そこに語られている真理は深淵です。今日は最初に「神の前にある賢さ」についてお話ししましょう。ここには対照的な言葉があります。
マタイ７章２４節 それで、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いて行う者を、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人に比べることができよう。
マタイ７章２６節 また、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いても行わない者を、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に比べることができよう。
ここにははっきりと「賢い人」と「愚かな人」というものが記されています。一般的に私達が「賢い人」「愚かな人」と考えます時に、まず考えることは、その人の学校の成績がいいとか、物知りであるとか、計算が早い、記憶力がある、その類のこととなります。
しかし、このところでイエス様が言われている「賢さ」とは私達が思うような賢さとは異なるようです。イエス様は実にシンプルに言われました。賢い人とは岩の上に家を建てる人。愚かな人とは砂の上に家を建てる人。なぜ岩の上に家を建てた人が賢いのでしょうか。なぜ砂の上に家を建てた人は愚かなのでしょうか
イエス様が過ごされたイスラエルは、カリフォルニアやネバダのように乾燥し、その国土には砂漠のような土地があります。そこでは晴れの日が来る日も来る日も続きます。しかし、時々、激しい雨が降ります。そうしますと、その雨は鉄砲水となり、荒野の中で濁流となり、それは車をも流します。しかし、しばらく経つと全ての水はなくなり、何もなかったように乾燥した土地に戻ります。
ですからアリゾナ州やネバタ州の砂漠地帯をドライブしていますと場違いと思われる場所に「FLOOD・洪水」に対する注意をうながす看板を目にします。その地域は普段、雨の「あ」の字もないのです。雨が降る気配が何もない乾き切った土地なのです。そのような時に、そのような場所で、洪水の備えをする人はいません。しかし、時に突然、激しい雨が乾いた土地に降り、それは濁流となって莫大な被害をもたらすのです。
イエス様はきっとこのような自然環境を念頭に置きながら、今日の譬えを語られたのでしょう。この話を聞いていた者達は嵐と洪水と暴風が打ちつけても倒れない家を見たことがあったことでしょう。同じように、嵐と洪水と暴風が打ちつけて、ひどい倒れ方をした家を見たことがあったことでしょう。これらのことは彼らのすぐ身近なところで起きる出来事であったに違いありません。
かつてノアが方舟を作った時、人々は彼を馬鹿にしたことでしょう。「雨なんか降らないのに、あんな巨大な船を作っているなんて！なんと愚かな男だ！」しかし、そんな人達とその財産を全て飲み尽くす雨が４０日４０夜、降り続けました。その時について、イエス様はノアの時代のことを取り上げて言いました。
マタイ２４章３８節−３９節 すなわち、洪水の出る前、ノアが箱舟にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていた。39そして洪水が襲ってきて、いっさいのものをさらって行くまで、彼らは気がつかなかった。
そうです、その時が来るまで、そこには変わらない日常がありました。主にある皆さん、私達には心に留めておかなければならないことがあります。雨が降らない日があります。長い間、雨が降らない日々です。しかし、雨は必ず降ります。
人生にも雨が降らない、いつも晴天が続くような時があります。しかし、人生にも必ず、雨が降ります。濁流が押し寄せてくることがあります。水の力は強力で、それを前に人間の力は無に等しいのです。突然の突風や洪水があなたにも、あなたの家族にも襲いかかることがあるのです。「賢い」ということについて、イエス様はこんな譬も話しています。マタイ２５章１節から１３節、
マタイによる福音書２５章１節—４節 1そこで天国は、十人のおとめがそれぞれあかりを手にして、花婿を迎えに出て行くのに似ている。2その中の五人は思慮が浅く、五人は思慮深い者であった。3思慮の浅い者たちは、あかりは持っていたが、油を用意していなかった。4しかし、思慮深い者たちは、自分たちのあかりと一緒に、入れものの中に油を用意していた。
思慮の深いという日本語は英語の聖書では「Wise」と書かれていますので、「賢い」としていいでしょう。「思慮の浅い」は「Foolish」と書かれていますので、「愚か」としていいでしょう。
この喩え話の結論をお話ししましょう。この後、突然、花婿が彼らの元にやってきます。 彼女達は居眠りをしていました。真夜中に『さあ、花婿だ、迎えに出なさい』と呼ぶ声がしました。油を備えていた五人のおとめはすぐに起き、花婿を迎え、そのまま結宴の部屋に入ります。油を備えていなかった五人のおとめも起きます。しかし、彼女達に油はなく、すなわち明かりはなく、花婿を迎えることができずに、結宴の部屋から締め出されてしまうのです。このマタイ２５章はこれらについて語られ、最後にこう締めくくります。
マタイによる福音書２５章１３節 だから、目をさましていなさい。その日その時が、あなたがたには分からないからである。
賢い乙女と、愚かな乙女。彼女たちの何が違うのか。賢い乙女は花婿がいつ来てもいいように「油」を備えていた。愚かな乙女は花婿がいつ来てもおかしくないのに「油」を備えていなかった。
このことゆえに、賢い乙女は婚宴の部屋に入ることができ、愚かな乙女達はそこに入ることができなかった。この喩えは、いつの日か、花婿なるイエス・キリストが私達の元に再び来られる、再臨への備えを語りかけます。
先の家の喩えと、この喩えに共通することは何か？それは必ず来る、その時に備えているか、備えていないかということです。心に刻みましょう。主は言われる「備えている者は賢い。備えていない者は愚かだ」と。
ところで皆さん、砂の上に家を建てる方が、岩の上に立てるよりも簡単だということをご存知でしょうか。それは確かに楽なのです。建築日程を考えたら、その日数は少なく、それはイコール、建築費も相当に節約できることを意味します。
ですから、同じ時に砂の上、岩の上に家を建て始めた人にはこのようなことが起こります。砂の上に家を建てた人の家は早々に、低予算で完成します。その新築の家を建てた人は、バルコニーでコーヒーを飲みながら、汗を流しながら今も、岩を土台として家を建てようとしている人を眺めてこう言うのです。「おいおい、何やってんだよ。まだやっているのかよ。随分と面倒なことをしてんだなー」。この人の思いと言葉は雨が降り、暴風に吹かれ、洪水が彼の家を襲うまで続くことでしょう。

この譬がはっきりと書いていますことは「聖書の言葉を知っている」ということだけでは堅固な土台を築けないということです。それを聞いて、行ってはじめてそのことが可能になるのです。私達にとって岩なる土台とは何なのでしょうか。詩篇の言葉は古の昔から語り続けています。
詩篇６２篇５節—８節 5わが魂はもだしてただ神をまつ。わが望みは神から来るからである。6神こそわが岩、わが救、わが高きやぐらである。わたしは動かされることはない。7わが救とわが誉とは神にある。神はわが力の岩、わが避け所である。8民よ、いかなる時にも神に信頼せよ。そのみ前にあなたがたの心を注ぎ出せ。神はわれらの避け所である。
我々にとってこの岩は神様のことです。パウロは言っています。
コリント第一の手紙１０勝１節—４節 1兄弟たちよ。このことを知らずにいてもらいたくない。わたしたちの先祖はみな雲の下におり、みな海を通り、2みな雲の中、海の中で、モーセにつくバプテスマを受けた。3また、みな同じ霊の食物を食べ、4みな同じ霊の飲み物を飲んだ。すなわち、彼らについてきた霊の岩から飲んだのであるが、この岩はキリストにほかならない。
主にある皆さん、この岩はキリストに他なりません。神こそ我が岩なる土台。イエスこそ我が霊の岩という言葉に従い、それを土台にする。そのことは私たちが主の言葉に聞き、従い、実際に生きるということにかかっているのです。すなわち、主の言葉を聞いて行う者はいつも「イエス・キリスト」という土台の上に自らを建てあげていくのです。
私はこれまで多くのクリスチャンに出会ってきました。当然、皆がそれぞれ異なる人生を送ります。その中で、ことクリスチャン信仰において最も大切なことは、複雑ではないということがわかりました。すなわち、それは信じ続けるか、その信仰に立って生き続けるかということだと分かりました。し続けること、それは簡単そうに見えますが、これほど難しいことはありません。
時々、私達は思いがけない人から大切なことに気がつかされます。将来の殿堂入りが確約されているイチローは数々の記録を塗り替えました。その彼が２００４年メジャーリーグの年間安打記録を破った際のインタビューでこう言っています。「小さいことを積み重ねるのが、とんでもないところへ行くただひとつの道だと思っています。」
彼は元々、天才だという人がいますが、それは違うと思います。彼が到達した所に到達し得ない野球選手は無数にいる。その違いは何か。彼は小さいことをコツコツと続けたのです。そして、彼が言っていることは、野球のみならず、万物の法則のようなもので、多くのことに当てはまるのです。そして、それは私達の信仰生活にも当てはまるのです。
「イエス・キリストという土台の建て方」という短期集中講座はないのです。小さいことを積み重ねるは、岩にコツコツと穴を開けていくようなものです。私達はその地、深くに柱を立てるのです。
子供が成長するには、毎日、食べ続ける以外に方法はないのです。おととい何を食べたか忘れました。それでもいいのです。それでもその食べ物は確実に彼、彼女の肉となり骨となっています。
先週のメッセージを忘れました。それでもいいのです。それでもその心の糧は私達の魂の肉となり、骨となります。肝心なことは御言葉を食べ続け、私たちがそれに生き続けることです。このようにして私達の土台は堅固なものとなります。
岩の上に家を備えた人は嵐から守られました。油を備えていた乙女はチャンスを得ました。備えている人だけがチャンスを得ます。どうぞ覚えてください、最後に勝利を取る人は運が良かった人なのではないのです。ノアは運が良かったのではありません。あの乙女は運が良かったのではありません。彼らは備えていた人達なのです。
野球のバッターボックスに立つ時、私達は緊張します。しかし、緊張しない方法があります。そのために日々、備えてきたのなら、すべきことはただ一つ。いつもどおりバットを振ればいいのです。人生も同じです。最後に勝利を得る人は、その時が来てあわてふためく人ではなく、いつも通りを毎日、毎週、毎年続けている人なのです。
親は我が子に笑顔で人生を送ってほしいと思います。人生を楽しんでほしいと願います。私も心からそう願い、そのためにできる限りのことをしたいと思います。父なる神様も子である私達にそのことを願っているでしょう。しかし、そのような人生を私達が送るために、それを楽しむために、まず取り組まなければならいことがあることを今日、お話しました。
それなりに人生を生きていれば、皆さんもお分かりでしょう。人生には自力や人脈、クレジットカードでは解決しない嵐があるのです。その時に私達は強い雨をしたたかに全身に受けます。強風に飛ばされそうになります。洪水に襲われます。期待していた手元にあるものも水に流され、風に飛ばされてしまいます。
その時です、もし私達の土台がイエス・キリストにあるのなら、その家はそこに立ち続けることができるのです。主にある皆さん、まず私達、大人がこのことをトップ・プライオリティーに据えようではありませんか。
若い方達、皆さんはどんな将来を思い描いているでしょうか。何を学んでいるでしょうか。大いに学び、色々なことを経験してください。主が喜んでくださる範疇の中で、このことをするのなら、これらのことはあなたの人生を豊かにしてくれることでしょう。
自分の好きなように家の色を考え、窓枠もキッチンもお気に入りのものをしつらえればいい。しかし、どうかこのことを心に留めてください。これからあなたがどんな学校に行こうとも、どんな仕事に築こうとも、そして誰と家庭を築くにしても、まず土台を堅固なものにすることに心を注いでください。
こつこつと、自分の土台を岩の上に置き、そこに穴を開け、そこに自分の人生の土台となる杭を打ち込むのです。それを、し続けてください。
土砂降りの雨は必ず降ります。暴風が吹き荒れ、洪水が襲うようなこともあります。私たちの人生からこれらのことを避けることはできません。しかし、あなたは大丈夫。なぜなら、この世は滅びても主の言葉は永久に残るからです。

Life Built on a Solid foundation

Today marks the end of the “Sermon on the Mount” message series, which began in January 2023. It was only three chapters of the Bible, but it took 14 months to get to this point. Starting next week, we hope to look at each one of the statements of the Apostles’ Creed, which we recite each week. I will read the last biblical portion of the Sermon on the Mount, which is the text for today. This is a parable told by Jesus Christ and written down by a man named Matthew.
Matthew 7:24-27 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Jesus speaks to us today about two houses. As we read and can see, Jesus always told stories that the common people could understand. However, the truths spoken there are profound. Let us talk first today about “being wise before God”. Here are some contrasting words.
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
Matthew 7:26 “But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.”
There is clearly “a wise man” and “a foolish man” written about here. Generally, when we think of a “wise” or “foolish” person, the first thing we think of is someone with good grades in school, someone who knows things, someone who can calculate quickly, someone who has a good memory, and so on.
However, the “wise” that Jesus is referring to here seems to be different from what we think of as wise. Jesus said it very simply. A wise person builds their house on the rock. A foolish person builds their house on sand. Why is the person who built their house on the rock, wise? Why is the person who built their house on sand, foolish?
Israel, where Jesus spent his time in, is as arid as California or Nevada, and its lands are desert-like. There, sunny days continue day after day. However, every now and then it rains hard. Then the rain becomes a flash flood, a muddy river in the wilderness that even washes away cars. But after a while all the water is gone and the land returns to dryness as if nothing had happened.
So when you drive through the deserts of Arizona and Nevada, you will see signs warning of “FLOOD” in places that seem out of place. The area is usually devoid of any indication of rain. It is a dry land with no sign of rain. No one prepares for a flood at such a time and in such a place. But sometimes, suddenly, heavy rain falls on dry land, which becomes a muddy stream and causes enormous damage.
Jesus surely had this natural environment in mind when he told today’s parable.Those who heard this story would have seen houses that did not collapse when storms, floods, and strong winds battered them. Likewise, they would have probably seen houses that have fallen badly as storms, floods, and strong winds beat down on them. These must have been events that occurred in their immediate surroundings.
Once, when Noah built the Ark, people would have made fun of him. “It doesn’t rain, yet he builds such a huge ship! What a foolish man!” However, the rain that consumed all those people and their property continued to fall for 40 days and 40 nights. Regarding that time, Jesus addressed the time of Noah and said.
Matthew 24:38-39. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Yes, until that time came, there was an unchanged routine there.
People in the Lord, there are some things we need to keep in mind. There are days when it does not rain. These are days without rain for a long time. However, rain is sure to fall.
There are times even in life when it seems that it doesn’t rain and is always sunny. However, life too will always have its rains. There are times when the muddy waters come rushing in. The power of water is so powerful that human power is nothing in the face of it. Sudden gusts of wind and flooding can also strike you and your family.
On the subject of being “wise,” Jesus also spoke the following parable in Matthew 25:1-13.
Matthew 25:1-4. 1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
The Japanese word for “shiryo no fukai (thoughtful)” is “wise” in the English Bible, so let us understand it as such. Likewise, let us understand “shiryo no asai (thoughtless)” as “foolish”.
Let me tell you the conclusion of this parable. After this, suddenly the bridegroom comes to them. The women had been dozing off. At midnight there was a shout, “Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.” The five virgins, who had oil with them, immediately get up, welcome the bridegroom, and go directly into the room for the wedding banquet. The five virgins, who had no oil with them, also get up. However, these women do not have oil, and do not have lighting, so they are unable to welcome the bridegroom, and are shut out from entering the room for the wedding banquet.
This is what it says in Matthew 25, and the parable concludes with this.
Matthew 25:13. “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”
The wise virgins and the foolish virgins. What is different about them? The wise virgins had “oil” prepared for whenever the bridegroom may come. The foolish virgins did not have “oil” prepared although the bridegroom could come at any time.
Because of this, the wise virgins could enter the wedding banquet room, while the foolish virgins could not. This parable speaks of being prepared for the Second Coming, when Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom, will one day come again to us.
What does the earlier parable of the house have in common with this parable? It is either you will be prepared for the time that will certainly come, or not be prepared for that time. Let us keep this in mind. The Lord says, “Those who are prepared are wise. Those who are not prepared are foolish.”
By the way, did you all know that it is easier to build a house on sand than on rock? It is indeed easier. Considering the construction schedule, the number of days is less, which means considerable savings in construction costs.
So this is what happens to those who start building houses on sand and on rock at the same time. People who build their homes on sand complete their homes early and on a low budget. The person who built that new house, while sipping coffee on his balcony, says while watching the person who is even now sweating and is building a house with a rock as its foundation. “Hey, hey, what are you doing? You are still at work? You sure are doing something that is such a hassle.” This person’s thoughts and words will continue until the rain falls, the storm blows, and the flood hits their home.
We think about the exterior of the house. We think about the interior. What kind of roof, what kind of windows. And what kind of furniture will be placed there, and what will decorate the walls. We think about honeymoons. Where to go, what to eat. We think about the clothes we will wear and the car we will drive. We also think about what kind of work we will do and where we will live.
Those things should be well thought out and enjoyed. However, the Lord brings to our attention that before these things there is something that needs to be done. “Is your foundation secure?” You may not lack anything. But “Is your foundation secure?”
People in the Lord, if we continue to chase after only what we can see, we will surely get stuck somewhere in life. For God did not create us with only a body and mind, but as spiritual beings just like Himself. With faith we see what we cannot see, with faith we think, with faith we prepare. Such a person Jesus Christ called a wise person
We have seen that a person who builds their house on the rock is a wise person, and a person who builds their house on sand is a foolish person. So what kind of person builds a house on a rock? What kind of person builds a house on sand? The Lord says:
Matthew 7:24. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
Matthew 7:26 “But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.”
The parable clearly states that “knowing the words of the Bible” is not enough to build a solid foundation.Only when you hear them and put them into practice will that be possible.
What is the rock foundation for us? The words of the Psalms speak from ancient times.
Psalm 62:5-8 5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him. 6 Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8 Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.
For us, this rock is God. The apostle Paul says.
1 Corinthians 10:1-4 1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.
People in the Lord, this rock is none other than Christ. God is the rock, our foundation. Based on God’s word that Jesus is our spiritual rock, we will make Him our foundation. That depends on us listening to, obeying, and actually living His word. In other words, those who hear and practice the words of the Lord always build themselves up on the foundation of “Jesus Christ”.
I have met many Christians in my life. Naturally, they all lead different lives.In these encounters, I found that the most important thing for the Christian faith is not complicated. In other words, I have found that it is a matter of continuing to believe, of continuing to live by that faith. To continue, it seems easy, but there is nothing as difficult as this.
Sometimes we are reminded of important things by unexpected people. A guaranteed future Hall of Famer, Ichiro has broken numerous records.
Here is what he said in an interview when he broke the Major League Baseball record for hits in a season in 2004. “I believe that the only way to go to extraordinary places is to continue to build on small things.”
Some people say he was born a genius, but I don’t think that is true. There are countless baseball players who will never reach where he has reached. What is the difference? He continued to do the small things. And what he is saying applies to many things, not only baseball, but the law of all things. And that applies to our life of faith as well.
There is no short-term intensive course called “How to Build the Foundation of Jesus Christ.” Building on small things is like making a steady hole in a rock. We build a pillar in the ground, deep into the ground.
There is no other way for a child to grow than to keep eating, every day. They forgot what they ate the day before yesterday. That’s okay. Still, the food has certainly become part of his or her flesh and bone.
You forgot last week’s message. That’s okay. Still, that spiritual food becomes the flesh and bones of our souls. The key is to keep feeding on the Word, and to keep living it. In this way our foundation will be solid.
The man who prepared his house on the rock was protected from the storm. The virgin who was prepared with oil had her chance. Only those who are prepared will get the chance.Please remember, the people who triumph in the end are not lucky people. Noah was not lucky. Those virgins were not lucky. They were people who were prepared.
When we stand in the batter’s box of a baseball game, we get nervous. However, there are ways to avoid getting nervous. If you have prepared for that every day, there is only one thing to do. Just swing the bat as usual.
Life is the same. Those who triumph in the end are not those who panic when the time comes, but those who continue to do what they always do, day after day, week after week, year after year.
Parents want their children to live life with a smile. They want them to enjoy life. I sincerely hope so, and will do all I can to make that happen. God the Father would want that for us as His children. But I told you today that in order for us to live such a life, to enjoy it, there are things we must first work on.
If you have lived your life to a certain degree, you will know what I mean. There are storms in life that cannot be resolved by personal strength, connections with other people, or credit cards. At that time we receive strong rainfall all over our bodies. We are almost blown away by strong winds. We are hit by floods. What is at hand that we had hoped for is also swept away by the water and blown away by the wind.
It is then, if our foundation is in Jesus Christ, that the house can continue to stand there. People in the Lord, first of all, let us, adults, place this as our top priority.
Young people, what kind of future do you envision? What are you learning? Please learn a lot and experience many things. If you do this within the parameters that the Lord is pleased with, these things will enrich your life.
You can think of the color of the house as you like it, and you can furnish the window frames and the kitchen as you like. But please keep this in mind. Whatever school you go to, whatever job you do, and whomever you raise your family with, be sure to focus on building a solid foundation first.
Diligently, you place your foundation on the rock, drill a hole in it, and drive a stake through it that will become the foundation of your life. And please keep doing it.
Downpours of rain are sure to fall. Storms can blow in and floods can strike. We cannot avoid these things in our lives. But you will be fine. Because the world may perish, but the word of the Lord will remain forever.
Matthew 7:24-25 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

４）砂の上に家を建てるのは簡単です。岩の上に家を建てるよりも工期は短く、経費もかかりません。私たちの人生を砂の上に建てあげていくということは、どんなことを意味するのでしょうか。
５）マタイ７章２４節には「これらの言葉を聞いて行う者」とあり、２６節には「これらの言葉を聞いても行わない者」とあります。行うことはなぜ大切ですか。「行う」とは具体的にどういうことですか。
６）詩篇６２篇５節—８節、コリント第一の手紙１０勝１節—４節を読みましょう。このところで神とイエス・キリストは岩であると書かれています。その岩はそれぞれどんな岩ですか。あなたはこの岩の上に立っていますか？
７）なぜ続けることは大切ですか。イエス様の言葉に従い続けることは簡単ですか。これまでの自分の人生を振り返り、このことは成すべき価値があると思いますか。
