私達が伝道する時に、そのプロセスとして私達は「神、罪、救い」について話します。このことについてそれを分かりやすく伝える伝道のツールがたくさんあります。それらが伝えていることは全く間違っていませんし、それは聖書のメッセージの核心です。しかし、そこからある現象が起きてきました。それはこういうことです。「そうか、イエスの十字架は私達の罪の救いのためだけか」ということです。 

それならまず酒を飲まず、たばこは吸わず（私達日本人はどういうわけかまず、この二つを上げますが、実際のところ聖書の中で人々はブドウ酒を飲み、禁煙云々は聖書の中にでてきません）、教会に毎週行き、世の諸悪から離れて生きていこう。だいたい、この辺りに私達の考えは落ち着き、それをクリスチャンライフと呼び始めます。しかし、実際にイエス・キリストの罪の赦しとは、救いというものは、こういっては失礼かもしれませんが、その程度のものなのでしょうか。そんなに狭いものなのでしょうか・・・。

 私達は今年の４月３日から使徒信条を見てまいりましたが、いよいよそれも残すところ二回となりました。この一連のシリーズによって、キリスト教というものがどんなものであるか、その核心的なことについて触れさせていただきました。そして、今日は残りの「罪のゆるし」、そして来週は「復活、永遠の命」をもって、このシリーズを終えさせていただきます。一番、最後に最も大切なことが続きますので、お聞き逃しのないようにと願っております。

ある時代に起きた出来事について記録された書物を読む時に私達ができるかぎり努めなければならないことは、その出来事が起きた背景というものをよく考えなければならないということです。先々週もお話しましたように、キリスト教の始まりと共に誕生したものとして顕著なものは「教会」という存在です。今朝も私達はこのように教会に来ていますゆえに、当時、すなわち２０００年前の最初の教会についても同じような思いでそれを考えてしまうかもしれません。

しかし、私達が忘れてはならないことは今から２０００年前に生まれた教会とは、それ以前には存在していないものだったということです。私達はこのことをしっかりと押さえておかなければなりません。それでは、それ以前に彼らはどこでどのように神というものを拝していたのでしょうか。はるか昔のそれは「幕屋」であり、イエス・キリストが生きた時代、その中心は「神殿」でありました。幕屋の構造と役割というものはだいたい神殿の中に引き継がれました。

この「神殿」は（パワーポイントで画像をだします）イエス様も実際に訪れたエルサレムにあったヘロデ王の建てた神殿です。その一つ一つの場所には意味がありました。たとえばここに記されている「異邦人の庭」や「婦人の庭」なるものがあり、これは文字通り、神殿においてユダヤ人以外の外国人や女性が入ることができる場所というものには制限があったということ示しています。この他、細かく説明する時間はありませんが、特にこの朝、まず私達が目を留めたいのは神に犠牲を捧げる「祭壇」(Alter)と呼ばれる場所と「聖所」（Holy Place）、「至聖所」（Holy of Holies）と呼ばれる場所であります。この二つはこの神殿を象徴するものであります。まず祭壇についてお話しましょう。

祭壇

神殿にあった祭壇では神に捧げられるべく、動物の血が流され、これらの動物はその祭壇の上で焼かれました。なぜ、彼らは祭壇で動物を捧げたのか。それは彼らが犯した罪についての償いとしてであります。自分の罪に対して、それは本来、神の前に自らの命をもって償わなければならない、しかし、それではいくら命があっても足りない、それゆえにその代わりとしておびただしい数の動物の血が流されたのです。

しかし、キリストの教会には祭壇がありませんでした。私達の教会にはグリルはありますが、やはり祭壇はありません。私達はそのグリルでポークやらチキンを焼きますが、それは神への捧げものではなく、私達が食べるためです。なぜ、教会に祭壇はなくなったのか。なぜなら、もはや動物を捧げる必要がなくなったからです。それは私達が罪を犯さなくなったからではなく、もはや必要のないものになったからです。なぜか、なぜなら神の一人子、イエス・キリストが自らを犠牲として十字架の上で私達の罪のために血を流してくださったからです。ヘブル１０章１２節から１８節が記しているとおりです。

12しかるに、キリストは多くの罪のために一つの永遠のいけにえをささげた後、神の右に座し、13それから、敵をその足台とするときまで、待っておられる。14彼は一つのささげ物によって、きよめられた者たちを永遠に全うされたのである。15聖霊もまた、わたしたちにあかしをして、16「わたしが、それらの日の後、彼らに対して立てようとする契約はこれであると、主が言われる。わたしの律法を彼らの心に与え、彼らの思いのうちに書きつけよう」と言い、17さらに、「もはや、彼らの罪と彼らの不法とを、思い出すことはしない」と述べている。18これらのことに対するゆるしがある以上、罪のためのささげ物は、もはやあり得ない。

その一度の犠牲は私達の罪の身代わりに十二分なものであり、私達がそのキリストの十字架は自分の罪のための身代わりであったということを悔い改め、信じる時に、その罪は完全に赦される、神はその私達の罪や不法をもはや思い出すこともしないというのが聖書のメッセージなのです。

こう言いますと、そうか、それはありがたいなー。今はもうこの教会に羊やら山鳩を携えてこなくてよくなったんだと思われる方がいるかもしれません。イエス様が十字架にかかることによって、便利になったんだなー、手間隙がかからないんだなーと思われる方がいるかもしれません。しかし、このイエスの十字架には当然、それ以上の意味があるのです。それはこのキリストの十字架には神の愛が示されているということです。

ここにはベジタリアンの方もいるかもしれませんが、それ以外の者達は日々、動物性たんぱく質を食べています。昨晩、牛や羊や豚や鶏の肉を食べた方もいるでしょう。そんな皆さんにお尋ねしたいのですが、その時に、それらの動物の愛を感じつつ、それを食べましたか。自分の命と引き換えに私に食べられているこの神戸牛に私は愛されている、この地鶏の愛を感じると・・・。いいえ、そんなことはない。動物自身も「わたしは人を愛するゆえに血を流し、食べてもらおう」と思って生贄とされているのではありません。

しかし、キリストの場合は違う。キリストはその愛ゆえに、私達の罪のために、受身ではなく自らの命を祭壇の上に捧げられたのです。言うまでもなく命とは私達にとって最も大切なものです。その最も大切なものをキリストは私達のために捧げてくださったのです。本来、そのようなことをすべき理由は神の側にはないのです。自らの罪は私達が負うべきものであり、それは極めて理にかなったことだからです。しかし、神はそのような理にかなったことを覆します。なぜなら、神は私達を愛しておられるからです。

初代の教会の人々は、それゆえにもはや祭壇を置く必要がなくなったのです。彼らの罪はキリストの十字架によって既に赦されているからです。ですから、私達もそのことを告白するのです「私は罪のゆるしを信じます」と。二つ目のことをお話します。それは聖所と至聖所ということです。

聖所、至聖所

この図を見ていただくと分かるかと思うのですが、神殿には聖所と至聖所がありました。聖所には祭司のみが入ることができ、そこで彼らは神に対して民の罪の赦しを祈り求めました。至聖所は英語では「Holy of Holies」と呼ばれている場所で、そこは最も聖なる場所とされ、そのきよさゆえにその場所には聖所と区別するために厚い幕がはられていました。至聖所には民全体の罪のあがないをするために年に一度、大祭司だけが動物の血を携えて中にはいることが許されていました。

しかし、不思議なことが起こりました。イエス・キリストが十字架にかかられ、その息を引き取られた直後にこの至聖所と聖所を隔てていたその幕が上から下に真っ二つに裂けたと聖書は記録しています（マタイ２７章５１節、マルコ１５章３８節）。人がもしそれを裂くのなら、下から上に幕は裂かれます。しかし、それは上から裂かれました。すなわち神がそれを裂いたのです。この現象は大切なことを意味しました。先に読みましたヘブル１０章は続きとしてこう記しています。

19兄弟たちよ。こういうわけで、わたしたちはイエスの血によって、はばかることなく聖所にはいることができ、20彼の肉体なる幕をとおり、わたしたちのために開いて下さった新しい生きた道をとおって、はいって行くことができるのであり、21さらに、神の家を治める大いなる祭司があるのだから、22心はすすがれて良心のとがめを去り、からだは清い水で洗われ、まごころをもって信仰の確信に満たされつつ、みまえに近づこうではないか。23また、約束をして下さったのは忠実なかたであるから、わたしたちの告白する望みを、動くことなくしっかりと持ち続け、24愛と善行とを励むように互に努め、25ある人たちがいつもしているように、集会をやめることはしないで互に励まし、かの日が近づいているのを見て、ますます、そうしようではないか。

言うまでもありますまい、このことは私達が誰しも神の前にはばかることなく出ることができるようになったということを意味しています。キリストの血により至聖所にさえもはばかることなく入ることができるようになったのですから、先にお話した異邦人や婦人達の庭というような区別も取り除けられ、今や私達は誰彼を介せずに、どんな人間も直接、神の愛と赦しを受けることができるものとなったのです。それゆえに、教会にはこの至聖所も幕もないのです、というより、それらはもはや必要のないものなのです。

ここまで祭壇と至聖所についてお話しまして、神殿が何のために建っていたかということがお分かりいただけたのではないかと思います。すなわち、彼らにとって神殿という場所は神に近づくことが出来る場所であり、そのところで自らの罪の赦しを得る場所だったということです。

実にユダヤ人の関心というのは常に自らの罪の問題だったのです。このところに私達は日本人として、大きな隔てを感じます。なぜなら、罪というのは私達にとって前科三犯というような問題であり、自分が罪人だということを考えることはほとんどないからです。

では、なぜにユダヤ人にとって罪はそれほどまでに彼らの関心となっていたのでしょうか。なぜなら罪は私達を神から遠ざけるものであり、私達が本来もつべきである人間の姿を壊すものであり、私達の互いの関係を混乱させるものだからです。

そう言われてみると、私達も心に手を当てると思い当たる節がある。自分というものの言動（実際には言動という見える、聞こえるもののみならず、私達の心の中にある思いも含めて）、そのことが自分を苦しめ、そこから生まれる他者との軋轢というものがある。それらの源にあるものを罪とするならば、確かに私達にとってもこの罪の問題は放っておくことができないし、できることならそれを解決したい。

さらにその罪とは本来の人の姿を壊し、自らを神から遠ざけてしまうものであるという深刻なものでした。そうです、それはまさしくあの最初の人、アダムとイブが神の元から隠れるように出ていった姿であり、その後のこの夫婦、子供達、子孫たちが織り成していったその姿を見れば分かるように人は神の前に本来あるべき姿というものを失ってしまっているのです。キリスト教がなぜに「罪」を取り上げているかということは、これらの理由によるのです。そして、イエスの十字架はその私達の罪を全て赦してくださるものである、それが聖書のメッセージなのです。

と、この辺りで今日のメッセージ、すなわち「罪の赦しを信ず」ということを終えることはできます。しかし、今日はさらにもう一歩、踏み込んで皆さんにお話したいのです。それは私達がこのイエス・キリストから受けた罪の救いの広さ、深さということです。今日のメッセージタイトルでいうところの『「タバコは吸わない」では終わらない赦し』ということです。

 「タバコは吸わない」では終わらない赦し

 正直に申し上げますと、それはまさしく神殿に集まってくる者達の生き方だったのです。彼らの関心は何をしてはいけないのか、どれだけ神殿にきているか、どれだけ世の中と自らを隔離していきるか、そのことが彼らの関心の中心だったのです。神殿という建物はそのような生き方を象徴していました。

 しかし、今日、お話したように神様は一年に一度、大祭司しか入れなかった至聖所の幕を引き裂き、ヘブル書にあるように「わたしたちははばかることなく聖所に入る」（ヘブル１０章１９節）ことができるようになったのです（この「はばかることなく」は英語の聖書によりますと「大胆に」と書いてあります）。毎日のように動物が捧げられていた祭壇は必要のないものになりました。もはや私達はそこに生贄を捧げる必要はなくなったのです。

 そして、これらがなくなることによって人々の生活は様変わりしたに違いありません。彼らの生活パターンは変わったに違いありません。それまでは苦労して動物を得て、罪の許しを得ようと神殿に行っていた。中には自分の出生により神殿の中には入れない人達もありましたし、性別によって入れる場所が異なっている人達がいました、そのことがあからさまな目に見える差別を生み出していました。彼らはあれはだめ、これもだめということを守るということだけに終始していました。しかしイエス・キリストがなされたことはそんな彼らの行き方を、生活そのものを変えたのです。神殿がもはや必要のないものとなったということは、小さき世界から目の前に広がる神が創造したもうた世界へと彼らの目が向けられるようになったことを意味するのです。

 ローマ書８章においてパウロはそのはじめをこう記しています。1こういうわけで、今やキリスト・イエスにある者は罪に定められることがない。2なぜなら、キリスト・イエスにあるいのちの御霊の法則は、罪と死との法則からあなたを解放したからである。

 このところでパウロはイエス・キリストによって「罪と死との法則」から私達は解放されているといいます。それは、神の前にある本来の人の姿への回復を意味します。

 じことをコリント第二の手紙５章１７節はこのような言葉で言い換えています。だれでもキリストにあるならば、その人は新しく造られた者である。古いものは過ぎ去った、見よ、すべてが新しくなったのである。

 そうです、私達は罪と死との法則から開放され、新しく創造されたのだというのです。もはや至聖所を隔てる幕はないし、祭壇もないのです。そして、驚くべきことにこのローマ８章の１９節から２２節においてはその回復と創造は人間のみならず、生きとし生けるもの、全てに及んでいるのだと書かれているのです。ローマ８章１９節から２２節、

 19被造物は、実に、切なる思いで神の子たちの出現を待ち望んでいる。20なぜなら、被造物が虚無に服したのは、自分の意志によるのではなく、服従させたかたによるのであり、21かつ、被造物自身にも、滅びのなわめから解放されて、神の子たちの栄光の自由に入る望みが残されているからである。22実に、被造物全体が、今に至るまで、共にうめき共に産みの苦しみを続けていることを、わたしたちは知っている。

 このところで被造物、すなわち私達の周りにある自然界全体は今、虚無に服している、しかし、その彼らもやがてその滅びのなわめから解放されて、神の子たちの栄光の自由に入る望みが、その神に創造されたその本来の姿に変えられることを待ち望んでいるというのです。

 すなわち、キリストの罪の赦しとは、心と体をもったトータルな私達に、そして、その生活の全ての営みに関わってくることであり、キリストの救いということが、私達が神の前にある本来の姿に変えられていく、すなわちそれを「創造の回復」としますならば、その回復とは私達だけのことではなく、それは人と人が織り成す私達の社会と世界、私達の自然、もっと細かく言いますなら、医療とか教育、いいえ芸術ということにまでその創造の回復というものが私達を通して起きてくるのです。キリストの救いとは今日のタイトルにあるように、クリスチャンとなって「タバコは吸わなくなりました」というような小さなことではないのです。

 主にある兄弟姉妹、イエス・キリストが私達の罪を赦してくださったことによって、私達は創造の回復を得たのであり、それは私達だけにとどまるものではなく、そのことは私達のキッチンやオフィス、私達の日々の楽しみにまで私達を通して及んでいくことを考えてみてください。そのところにまでキリストの救いというものがおよんでいくのだということを私達が知ります時に、クリスチャン生活が退屈だというようなことはありえないことであり、そこに各々としての使命とそれに生きる喜びと、生きがいというものが自ずと与えられていくのです。お祈りしましょう。

God's forgiveness is not limited to giving up smoking

“I believe in the forgiveness of sins”

 We have been studying about the apostles' creed since April 3^rd of this year. We have only two Sundays left to finish it.  I talked about what the core of Christianity is throughout  this series.  I want to finish this series with today's message “the forgiveness of sins” and with the message of next Sunday about resurrection, the eternal life”. The last two messages are the most important subjects.  So I hope you won't miss them.

 When we read the book that is recorded in history, we need to consider the social backgrounds of the times. As I told you two weeks ago, it is clear that the church was born at the time of the start of Christianity.  We come to church this morning, but the the first church which started two thousand years ago is not the same as the church today.

 However, we can't forget that the church which was started 2000 years ago did not  exist before that time. We have to remember this fact. Then where and how did they worship God in the past?  Way before Jesus' time, they worshiped in a tent, and at the time of Jesus, they worshiped God in the temple. The structure and the role of the tent were taken over by the temple later on in history.

 This is the temple (in the power point) built in Jerusalem by king Herod, actually being visited by Jesus.  Each area of the temple had a meaning.  For example, there were “ the court of the gentiles” and “ the court of women”.  As it says, there were  restricted areas in the temple for gentiles or women to enter.  I don't have enough time to talk in detail, but this morning we want to focus on the place called the alter. A place for offering a sacrifice. Other places to look at are the “Holy Place “and the “Holy of Holies”.  Those two are the symbol of the temple.  Let me talk about the Alter first.

 The Alter

 In the Alter at the temple, animals were killed and burnt as offerings to God. Why did they offer animals? These animal sacrifices were atonement for their sins. From the beginning, we have to atone for our sins with our life before God. We don’t have multiple lives. This is why great number of animals were killed in place of us. 

 However, there was no Alter in the first Christian church.  We have a grill in the kitchen in our church but we don't have the Alter.  We cook pork or chicken on a grill.  But it is for us to eat.  It is not for offering to God. Why doesn't the Alter exist in a Christian church?  It is because we no longer need to offer animals as an sacrifice.  It is not because we stop committing sins, but it is because we don't need it any more.

Why don't we need it? It is because Jesus who was God's only child shed blood for our sins on the cross as the sacrifice to God.  It is written in Hebrews chapter 10 verses 12 to 18.

 12But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,13and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.14For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:16“This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts,and I will write them on their minds.”[a]

17Then he adds:“Their sins and lawless acts will remember no more.”[b]18And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

 The sacrifice which Jesus died once for us was more than enough for our sins.  When we repent and believe in Christ's cross, we are completely forgiven, and God never remembers our sins or wrong doing.  This is the message of the Bible.

 Then some people may think “Oh, we are lucky.  We don't need to bring sheep,doves or other animals to church anymore.”  Others may think that it was convenient  that Jesus died on the cross for us. But off course, Jesus on the cross means more than that.  It shows the love of Jesus.

 Some may be vegetarians, but most of us eat animal protein every day.  Some people may have eaten beef, pork or chicken last night.  I would like to ask you something to whom eat meat.  Did you feel the love when you ate the beef, pork or chicken?  Did you feel that we were loved by those Kobe beef or chicken because they died for us to eat. Of course not.  Animals do not become sacrifices to show that they love us and want to be killed for people.

 

 

However, Jesus was different.  Christ offered himself on the Alter for our sins because he loved us.  Needless to say, life is the most important thing for us.  Christ gave his  life for us. There is no reason for God to do such a thing.  It is reasonable for us  to bear our own sins   Because God loves us so much, he was willing to give up his son to atone for our sins.

 As a result, people in the first church didn't need to have the Alter anymore. It is because their sins were forgiven by the cross of Christ.  This is the reason why we say, “We believe in the forgiveness of sins”

I will now talk about the second subject.  This is about the Holy place and the Holy of Holies” 

 Holy place and Holy of Holies

 As you see this picture, you can see that there is the Holy place and the Holy of  Holies in the temple.  The Holy place is the place where only priests could enter.  Inside, this is where they asked and prayed for the forgiveness of sin of people.  Shiseijo in Japanese was called Holy of Holies in English.  This is the holiest area.  The room was separated by a thick curtain from Holy place.  Only the high priest was allowed to enter with the blood of the animals to atone for sins of the people once a year.

 However, something mysterious had happened.  Right after Jesus was crucified and died on the cross, the curtain which separated the Holy of Holies from Holy place was torn from top to bottom.  (Matthew 27:51 and Mark 15:38)  If someone tried to tear the curtain, it would be torn from bottom to top.  But it was torn from top to bottom.  It means that God tore it, and shows us something that is very important.  We already read Hebrews chapter 10 until verse18.  Let's see from chapter 19.

 19Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,22let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

 Needless to say, it means that anyone can come to God without any hesitation.  Because of  the blood of Christ, we have confidence to enter the Holy of Holies.  The distinction of the court of the gentiles and the court of women were removed, and anyone was able to receive God's love and forgiveness  directly without any other human intervention. This is the reason why there is neither the Holy of Holies nor the curtain in church.  It is no longer necessary.

 I talked about the Alter and the Holy of Holies.   I hope you understand the reason why and who the temple was built for.  The temple was the place where people could approach God  and receive forgiveness of their sins.

 Historically, Jews were always concerned about sin.  It is very different from us as Japanese people. We tend to think that sins are crimes we commit, and seldom consider ourselves as sinners.

 Then why was sin the biggest concern for Jews?  It is because sin separates us from God and destroys the relationship that had been intended between us and God. It destroys us as a perfect humanity.  Sin is the cause to confuse our relationship with him.

 Asking to our  heart, we know that it may be true.  Our behaviors along with our words  can cause pain and friction among many of us. Something in our hearts could be the culprit of our acts.  If those problems are caused by sin, we can't ignore them.  We want to solve them it if it is possible.

 Moreover, it is serious because sin destroys the original way God intended for us to be and  keeps us away from Him.  Yes. It is like that  of Adam and Eve, the first humans who ran away from God.  We see those results from them, their children and their descendants.  We lost this right relationship in front of God. This is the reason why Christianity is so concerned about sin.  Know that Jesus' cross forgives our sins completely.  This is the message of the Bible.

 At this point, I can conclude today's message, “I believe in the forgiveness”.

But I want to get into it even deeper today.  It is about how deep and how wide the forgiveness of sins that we received from Jesus Christ really is.  I will explain the meaning of  the today's title “God's forgiveness is not limited to giving up smoking”

 When we share the gospel, we talk about God, sin, and salvation, step by step.  We use   some booklets like the “four spiritual laws” or “the book without a letter” as a guide book to easily explain the Gospel.  What they teach  is not wrong at all, and actually it is the core  message in the Bible.  But we should be careful.  Why?  Because, we tend to think that Jesus' cross is only our salvation. 

 We are saved, so we should  live a very moral life by not drinking and not smoking. For some reason, a Japanese person would typically think that a Christian is someone that neither drinks alcohol nor smokes.  People in the Bible actually drank wine.   Not smoking cigarettes is not written in the Bible.  We think that it is important to go to church every Sunday to get away from evils of the world. We call this lifestyle a Christian life.  However, do you think that the forgiveness of Jesus Christ or salvation is only about these rules?  How small do you think God’s salvation  is?   Doesn't  it mean   a lot?

 Tell the truth, these were also the lifestyles of the people who gathered at the temple. Their concerns were about what  they shouldn't do, how often they come to the temple or how much they keep away from the world.  Those were the center of their concerns. The temple was the symbol of their lifestyles.

 As I told you today, God tore the curtain of Holy of Holies where only the high priest could enter once a year.  So “we  can have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place” as Hebrews says. (10:19)  “Tamerawazu” means without hesitation in Japanese is translated in English, as“ we have confidence” The Alter that they offered animals everyday became unnecessary.  We don't need to offer animals anymore.

 Their lives must have been changed since they stopped  offering animals.  Their lifestyles changed.  They used to go to temple with their hard-earned animals to be forgiven of their sins.  Some people couldn't enter the temple because of their status. Others were allowed to only enter into certain places depending on their sex.  It produces  much discrimination.  These people were too busy in making sure their were keeping up with the laws.  But what Jesus had done completely changed their lives and lifestyles. The Temple was not needed anymore. It means that their eyes were opened to see not only this small temple but to see the huge world God created before their eyes.

 Paul wrote in the beginning of Romans chapter 8.”1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a]free from the law of sin and death.”

 Paul said that we were liberated  from the law of sins by the death of Jesus Christ.  This means that we are recovered to the original human nature GOD has intended for us.

 He also said in another way in 2^nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a]The old has gone, the new is here!”

 Yes! We were free from the law of sins and spiritual death. We were created as new people. There is no curtain separating the Holy of Holies from the Holy place  nor the Alter.  And to our surprise, it is said in Romans chapter 8 verse 19 to 22 that the recovery and the creation were  given  not to human but to all living things.

 19For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that[a]the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”

  whole world around us s in despair. But they will be liberated from bondage and decay by having hope be brought into glory by the children of God.  They are looking forward to being changed to the original nature which God created in the beginning.

 Christ's forgiveness changes our minds, bodies and whole our lifestyles.  It brings us back to the original us.  We call it “recovery of  creation”.  And it starts from us and reaches our society, our world we make  and  our natural environment.  Being more specific, even the medical field, education and art can be affected by the recovery of creation through us.  So Christ's salvation is not such a small event.  It’s not as small as “ I quit smoking since I became a Christian.”

 Brothers and sisters in Christ.  Since Jesus Christ forgave our sins, we are  renewed by God.  And it is not limited to us as individuals.  Imagine that it will reach people in our kitchen, in our office or even the pleasure we have every day through us.  Knowing  that God's salvation reaches every corner of our lives, we can never say that a Christian life is boring.  We are given a mission, joy and purpose to live.  Let's pray.

 １）「幕屋」や「神殿」で捧げられていた生贄は何のためでしたか。

 

 

２）ヘブル１０章１２節から１８節を読みましょう。そこにはイエス・キリストが自ら一度限りの永遠の生贄となられたと書いてあります。このことは私達がもはや動物の生贄を捧げる必要がなくなったという手間が省けたという意味でしょうか。イエス様のこの行為にはどんな意味がありますか。

 

 

３）聖所と至聖所を隔てていたぶ厚い幕はイエス様が十字架にかかられその息を引き取られた時に、上から下に引き裂かれました。このことは何を意味していますか。ヘブル１０章１９節から２５節を読みましょう。

 

 

４）「しかるに、キリストは多くの罪のために一つの永遠のいけにえをささげた後、神の右に座し・・・」、「・・・これらのことに対するゆるしがある以上、罪のためのささげ物は、もはやあり得ない」　（ヘブル１０章１２節、１８節）という言葉や「わたしたちははばかることなく聖所に入ることができる」（ヘブル１０章１９節）という言葉は私達に何を約束していますか。このようなイエス・キリストゆえになされた新しい変化によって２０００年前の人達の生活はどのように変わったと思いますか。

 

 

５）あなたにとって「罪」とは何でしょうか。私達が抱える問題の根源にあるものは何でしょうか。イエス・キリストの十字架によって「罪が赦される」ところから私達に与えられる特権は「タバコは吸いません」、「悪いことから離れます」というようなことだけなのでしょうか。
