天上のことを語るイエス・キリスト
ヨハネ３章３１節‐３６節

私達が日曜の礼拝メッセージのシリーズとして見ておりますヨハネ伝３章３１節から ３６節までの御言葉をお読みします。
31上から来る者は、すべてのものの上にある。地から出る者は、地に属する者であって、地のことを語る。天から来る者は、すべてのものの上にある。32彼はその見たところ、聞いたところをあかししているが、だれもそのあかしを受けいれない。33しかし、そのあかしを受けいれる者は、神がまことであることを、たしかに認めたのである。34神がおつかわしになったかたは、神の言葉を語る。神は聖霊を限りなく賜うからである。35父は御子を愛して、万物をその手にお与えになった。36御子を信じる者は永遠の命をもつ。御子に従わない者は、命にあずかることがないばかりか、神の怒りがその上にとどまるのである」（ヨハネ３章３１節‐３６節）。
ここから二つのことを今日は見ていきたいとおもいます。まず最初に「地に属する者は地のことを語る」ということをお話しましょう。
地に属する者は地のことを語る
今朝、ここに集まりました私達は互いに年齢や生まれた場所が異なります。日本で生まれ育った方達は、それが東京であったり、青森であったり、沖縄であったり、その場所が異なります。アメリカにしても、その出身がカリフォルニアなのか、フロリダなのか、ルイジアナなのか、それぞれが異なるわけです。沖縄のサンゴ礁、そして新潟の豪雪と見える光景は異なり、サンディエゴのタコスとニューオリンズのケイジャンの味も異なります。
しかし、たとえそのような違いがありましても、私達にとりまして珊瑚も大雪もタコスもケジャンも私達の想像を超えたものではなく、今日ならそれらの映像や写真を観ることができますし、実際にそこに行き、サンゴに触れたり、雪の中を歩いたり、タコスでも、ケジャンでも食べることができるのです。
以前、韓国の仁川で生きたタコの刺身を食べました。目の前を泳いでいる生きたタコをイケスから出して、チョップし、まだ動いているタコの手足を（どれが手なのか、足なのか私には分かりませんが）、ワサビ醤油につけて口に入れるのです。このような料理はあまりサンデイェゴでは食べれません。あの動いているタコの足を口に入れた時の食感を説明するのは難しいものです。多くの人はタコの吸盤が舌にはりついたという経験をしないからです。でも、私達はタコとその吸盤を知っていますから、それがどんなものなのかを想像できるのです。なぜですか、これらは全て地球上にあるものだからです。
いかがでしょうか。皆さんの中でこの地球以外の惑星で生まれたという方はいますか。そんな方ならタコスやタコの吸盤を知らないかもしれません。もし、そんな方がいらっしゃるようでしたら、私は今まで存じ上げませんでしたので、後でゆっくりお生まれになった星についてお話を聞かせてください。
私達はそれぞれ異なる習慣や文化の中で生まれ育ちますが、私達がこの地球にいる限り、私達が見聞きしたり、私達の生活の様や人生のサイクルは大抵、似ています。そのような中で私達は８０年、９０年の人生を生きているのです。日本で生まれ育ちながら、アメリカで生まれ育った方と話をしていても互いに理解し合えます。なぜなら、同じ地球の上で私達は生きており、今日の聖書の言葉で言いますのなら、私達はこの地のことを語り合っているからです。
それが上海であっても、ナイロビであっても、サンパウロであっても、人間が営む日々の生活はほぼ同じです。どこに行きましても人は眠り、起き、食べ、天気の話をし、時に病気になり、野球やサッカーの話をしているのです。ソロモンはこの地でなされること、すなわち太陽の下、さらにすなわち地球でなされているそんなことについてこんなことを書いています。
『8目は見ることに飽きることがなく、耳は聞くことに満足することがない。9先にあったことは、また後にもある、先になされた事は、また後にもなされる。日の下には新しいものはない。10「見よ、これは新しいものだ」と言われるものがあるか、それはわれわれの前にあった世々に、すでにあったものである。11前の者のことは覚えられることがない、また、きたるべき後の者のことも、後に起る者はこれを覚えることがない』（伝道の書１章６節ー１１節）。
こんなことを繰り返しているうちに、私達の人生は終わっていくのです。これが全ての人の定めです。これが私達の生きる世界、この地球で生まれた者達の宿命です。そうです、私達、地から出る者は、地に属する者であって、地のことを語る（ヨハネ３章３１節）と言われたイエス様の言葉は全く正しいのです。それではそんな私達に対して、イエス・キリストはご自身についてどう言っているのでしょうか。二つ目のこと、「イエスは天で見たこと、聞いたことを私達に証しする」ということをお話しましょう。
イエスは天で見たこと、聞いたことを私達に証しする
聖書を読む時に私達がまずその前提として理解しなければならないことは、聖書は私達が生まれ育った環境で起きていることだけを書いているのではないということです。聖書は神について書かれている書でありますから、必然的にこの地球で私達が見聞きしないことについて記しているのであり、ある意味、そうでなくては神について書いている書とは言えないのです。
医学的な手術や治療がなくても、人が癒されるということや、処女が身ごもるということ、死人がよみがえるというようなこと、もっと言いますと「心の貧しい人達はさいわいである」（マタイ５章３節）とか「悲しんでいる人達はさいわいである」（マタイ５章４節）というようなイエス様の言葉にしても、私達にはよくわからないのです。そうです、私達の情報は全てこの地上で起きていること、そこで私達が学んだこと、経験したことに限られているわけで、それらに照らし合わせますと「悲しんでいる人はさいわいである」という言葉は、私達の範疇にはないのです。
私達は地球で生まれ、この地球に留まり生きているわけですから、当然、この地球で見聞きしていることを語ります。いいえ、言いますならばこの地上以外のことは語りえないのです。覚えていらっしゃいますか、イエス・キリストがかつて言われた言葉を。『16イエスは言われた、「あなたがたも、まだわからないのか。17口にはいってくるものは、みな腹の中にはいり、そして、外に出て行くことを知らないのか』(マタイ １５章１６節－１７節）。私達の内に入ってくるものが外に出ていくのですから、入ってこないものを出すことはできないのです。
それに対して今日の箇所においてイエス様はご自身について『天から来る者は、すべてのものの上にある。32彼はその見たところ、聞いたところをあかししているが、だれもそのあかしを受けいれない』（３１，３２）と記しています。また「34神がおつかわしになったかたは、神の言葉を語る。神は聖霊を限りなく賜うからである』（３４）とも言っています。そうです、聖書におけるイエス様の言動は、私達が知りえない天について、それを知っておられるお方が語られている言葉、なされたことが記されているのです。あちらの世界のことをイエス様は私達に証ししているのです。そうです、証しとは見聞きしたものを証言しているということです。
このことはすなわち、私達が「あの人が死んだ」とか、「この子が生まれた」という言葉を使う時にも、先ほどお話しました「悲しんでいる人」とか「心の貧しい者」に対しても天の解釈があるということで、すなわちこれらの言葉や出来事についてイエス様の目から見れば、私達が思う気持ちとは全く異なる意味がそこに含まれるのであり、その全く違う意味を、私達は聖書を通して知ろうと日々、努めているのです。すなわち、聖書とはこの地に這いつくばって生きているような私達に神の御心を知らしめるものであり、よくよく考えればこの世界にこの天来のメッセージ以上に私達にとって有益なものはないのです。『天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は決して滅びることがない』（ルカ２１章３３節）とあるように、地にあるものは、全て過ぎ去っていくからです。
キリストの使徒であり、その生涯、命をかけてこのイエス・キリストを伝えたパウロはコリント第二の手紙において、ある時、自分自身が第三の天、すなわちパラダイスにまで生きたまま、引き上げられたということを記録しています。そして、その時に『口に言い表わせない、人間が語ってはならない言葉を聞いた』（コリント第二の手紙 １２章４節）と書いています。
聖書の中において私達に語られている神様からのメッセージとは、すなわちパウロが「口に言い表せない、人間が語ってはならない言葉」が私達にも理解できる言葉となり、私達に語られているということです。ですからイエス・キリストは度々、神の御心を私達に伝えるために私達の身のまわり、すなわちこの地の上で見聞きすることができる出来事を通して私達に多くの譬え話を語られたのです。
私達が紫外線をまともに受けたら生きながらえないように、「口に言い表せない、人間が語ってはならない言葉」が私達に直接、語られたら私達はその神のきよさの前に自らの命をも失ってしまうことでしょう。しかし、イエス・キリストはこれらのことを私達にも分かる言葉で、私達に語り続けてくださっているのです。ですから、皆さん、聖書を読みましょう。聖書から学びましょう。その時に私達はこの地上のことを学んでいるだけではなく、私達は天来の知恵をガイダンスをその時に知ることができるのです。
ソロモンは言いましたでしょう『1あなたの若い日に、あなたの造り主を覚えよ。悪しき日がきたり、年が寄って、「わたしにはなんの楽しみもない」と言うようにならない前に、2また日や光や、月や星の暗くならない前に、雨の後にまた雲が帰らないうちに、そのようにせよ』（伝道の書１２章１節－２節）。
わたしにはなんの楽しみもない。そうですね、そうなりかねない、なぜなら『われわれの前にあった世々に、すでにあったものである』、そんなことばかりを何度も何度も私達は話しているのですから。しかし、聖書の言葉は私達に神の御心を教え、神について、人について、生きるということについて、死ぬということについて私達に語りかけ、天において打ち立てられている真理を私達に悟らせてくれるものなのですから。
私達は天来の言葉に耳を傾けましょう。今日、私達の世界は情報で満ちています。私達はそれらを知ろうとしますが、はたしてどれだけの情報が私達にとって必要なものなのでしょうか。私達は人類始まって以来、今、私達が知ることができる情報を知らずとも問題なく生きてきたのです。しかし、聖書の言葉は私達に不可欠なものです。『人はパンだけで生きるものではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つの言で生きるものである』（マタイ４章４節）と聖書に書かれているとおりです。
現在、私達はナビゲーションというシステムがあります。地球を一望できる場所で今も地球の周りを回っている衛星が私達が今、どこにいるのかを知らせてくれるのです。これがない時代、古の人達は星の位置によって自分の位置を知りました。どちらにも共通しているのは、私達の上にあるものだけが、私達の立ち位置を教え示すことができるということです。同じように私達がいかなるものであり、どのように私達は生きるべきかを教えてくれるものも皆、天から下るものです。私達が信仰をもってクリスチャンになるということは、この上からの言葉に耳を向けるということです。この上からの言葉がどんなものなのか、それがどのように人間に大きな感化を与えてきたものであるかということは歴史が証明するところです。
預言者イザヤはかつて敵から逃れようとするイスラエルの民に神の言葉を伝えました。まさしく上からのメッセージ、神の言葉を民に取り次いだのです。『15主なる神、イスラエルの聖者はこう言われた、「あなたがたは立ち返って、落ち着いているならば救われ、穏やかにして信頼しているならば力を得る』（イザヤ３０章１５節）。
しかし、この時のイスラエルの民はどうしたのでしょうか。続いてこう書いています。『15しかし、あなたがたはこの事を好まなかった。16かえって、あなたがたは言った、「否、われわれは馬に乗って、とんで行こう」と』それゆえ、あなたがたはとんで帰る。また言った、「われらは速い馬に乗ろう」と。（イザヤ３０章１５節、１６節）
そうです、彼らは神に立ち返らずに、神に信頼せずに馬に乗って逃げようというのです。そうです、単なる馬ではなく、速い馬に乗って飛んでいこうと。まさしくそれは彼らの地上ので経験、考えに基づく彼らにとって最良の考えでした。しかし、その彼らの地上の考えについてイザヤは神様の厳しい言葉を伝えます。すなわち『それゆえ、あなたがたを追う者は速い。 17ひとりの威嚇によって千人は逃げ、五人の威嚇によってあなたがたは逃げて、その残る者はわずかに山の頂にある旗ざおのように、丘の上にある旗のようになる』と！。（イザヤ３０章１６、１７節）。皆さん、これが地上での私達の考えや思いがしばしば行きつくところです。速い馬に乗ることによって敵から逃れようとするのなら、敵はさらに速い馬にのって私達を追いかけてくることでしょう。
これからの人生、どこから私達は生きる指針を得ていくのでしょうか。できることなら、私達は最高のアドバイスをいただきたいものです。歴代の大統領のスピーチのギャラは数千万円にもなるといいます。はたして、それだけ価値のある話なのでしょうか。大統領も結局のところ、地から出た人であり、地に属する人であり、地のことを語っているのです。そして、その語られることは、われわれの前にあった世々に、すでにあったものなのです。
神様は私達にこの地球で、一度だけの人生を与えてくださっており、それはまさしく毎日、本番です。そんな大切な毎日、私達は天から来られ、天の御心を私達に示す神の言葉、すなわち聖書に耳を傾けるということ、これ以上の生き方はないのです。どうか、教会が提供している聖書を学ぶ機会をお用いください。一人で聖書の言葉に向き合う時をもちましょう。そんなあなたに私達は今、こう言うことができます。あなたは祝福されます。なぜなら神のアドバイスとガイダンスをあなたは日々、いただいているのですから。お祈りしましょう。

Let us read our sermon series, the Gospel of John 3:31-36. I will read in Japanese so those who speak English, please read the verses on the PP screen.
31 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God[a] gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
I would like to share two things from these verses today. First of all, let us look at “the one who belong to the earth will talk about the earth”.

We, who came to this worship service has different age and our hometown is also different. Those who were born in Japan, they are also from different place. Some came from Tokyo, some from Aomori and some from Okinawa. Those who were born in US also has different hometown. Some from California, some from Florida and some from Louisiana. The reef in Okinawa and heavy snow in Nigata is different and the tacos in San Diego and Cajun in New Orleans is different.
Even though we have such difference, the reef, heavy snows, tacos and Cajun is not beyond our imagination but we are able to see these pictures, and even we can go there and touch the reef, walk in the snow, eat tacos and Cajun.
I ate living octopus sashimi at Inchon, South Korea before. The cook took out the living octopus from the water tank, and chopped. I ate the moving leg (or hand, I don’t know which is leg and foot) with soy sauce and wasabi. I cannot eat this kind of food in San Diego. It is difficult to explain how I felt on my tongue because not many people experience that, but we know octopus and their sucker, so we can imagine what is like. Why? because all of these is here on the earth.
Does anyone born in the planet other than the earth? Maybe you do not know about octopus sucker and tasty tacos. If some of you came from the planet to the earth, please share about your hometown.
Yes, each one of us were born and raised in different tradition and culture, but as long as we are on the earth, most of the things we hear and see is very similar. We have been living in such a environment for 80 or 90 years. Those who were born in Japan understand the thought of the people who were born in the USA, because we are living on the earth and according to the today’s Bible verses, we are talking about the earthly things.
Wherever we go, weather it is Shanghai, Nairobi or Sao Paul, we sleep, wake, eat, talk about weather, get sick and talk about baseball and soccer.
The king Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes 1:8-11 about the things we are doing under the sun. Please read the verses on the screen.
8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. 9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. 10 Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. 11 No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.
Our life will be end by doing these things day by day. This is our life. Yes what Jesus said was very true, we, all are from the earth, belongs to the earth and speak about the earth. this is our life. And then what Jesus is saying about himself? As a second point, let us see “Jesus testify us what he saw and heard at heaven”.
“Jesus testify us what he saw and heard at heaven”.
When we read the Bible, we have to understand that the book is not only write about earthly things. The Bible is the story about God, therefore, surely it is written about the things we never heard about it. If we understand everything written in the Bible by our experience and knowledge, that is not the book of God.
We do not know the healing of body and spirit without any medical procedure or operation, virgin conceived baby or resurrection, or even we do not understand the words such like “Blessed are the poor in spirit” (Matthew 5:3) or “Blessed are those who mourn” (Matthew 5:4). Yes, our all information coming from the earth and what we learned and experienced also come from the earth, and for such us, Jesus words “Blessed are those who mourn” is out of our understanding.
We were born in this earth and still remain in here, so we only talk about what we see and what we hear. Namely we cannot say about the things beyond our earth. Do you remember, Jesus once said 16 “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? (Matthew 15:16-17). The only things come into us will goes out from us.
Jesus is talking about himself in today’s verses. “The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony” (31-32) and he also said ” For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.” (34). Yes, the words and deeds of Jesus Christ written in the Bible is about the heaven which He really knows but we don’t know at all. Jesus is testifying about the Kingdom of God. Yes indeed, he is testifying what he had seen and heard.
This means that when someone died or someone was born, or the person who are mourn or poor also have the meaning in His Kingdom. When Jesus look at these, they have different meanings in it. That is different from what we are thinking, so we try to find the meaning through the Bible. The Bible teach us the will of God and there is nothing more valuable than His message to us. Because as Bible said 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away (Luke 21:33). Yes everything around us will be passed way, but the things from the above will not pass away.
The apostle Paul said in the 2 Corinthians 12:4, about he was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell (2 Corinthians 12:4).
The message from the God in the Bible is inexpressible things, thing that no one is permitted to tell. Therefore, Jesus tell us the parables to make us understand about the will of God.
As we cannot live by exposing ourselves to the pure ultraviolet radiation, we will lose our life if we stand before Holy God and hear the inexpressible things, and the thing that no one is permitted to tell, but Jesus speak to us with the understandable words for us. Therefore brothers and sisters, let us read the Bible. We are not only learning about earthly things but also receiving heavenly wisdom and guidance.
Once, king Solomon said; Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”—2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; Ecclesiastes 12:1-2
I find no pleasure in them. Yes this could be happened in our life, because It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. We repeatedly talking about these, we find no pleasure in them, but the words of the Bible is teaching us the will of God, about God, about human and the meaning of life and death, the words also teach us the truth from the above.
Let us hear the words from above. Now we are living in the world filled with billions of information. We try to know that, but how much do we really need the information?. Since our history began, we have been lived so many years without these information, and we are pretty ok, but the words of God is essential because the Bible said ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ (Matthew 4:4)
Now many of us are using navigation to get the place. The system let us know where we are on the earth. The satellites will catch our place and let us know where we are. Before these navigation was invented, we knows our location by seeing the stars. These are common that both of the satellites and stars tells us where we are because they are both away above us. As a same, what we are and how we live, such a questions will be answered by only from the above. To become Christian is start hearing the words from above. This is proofed by so many people who are influenced and changed their life by the words from the above.
The prophet Isaiah told God’s words to the Israelie who were try to flee from their enemy, yes it is the message from the above, and he said 15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, (Isaiah 30:15).
But what is the reaction of the people of Israel? Isaiah kept saying.
but you would have none of it. 16 You said, ‘No, we will flee on horses. Therefore you will flee! You said, ‘We will ride off on swift horses.
Yes, they did not return and trust God, and just flee on horses. Yes it was not just horses, but they will ride off the swift horses. As you know this idea is coming from their earthly idea and experience and they think that is the best idea for them, but God told them Therefore your pursuers will be swift! A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee away, till you are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.” This is the result of our earthy stratagem. If we try to flee by swift horse, they will chase us with faster horse.
What is our guideline in our life. If we can, we want to have the best advice about our life. The pay for the speech of the presidents will be a couple of hundred thousand dollars. Is it really worth it? They are just a man like us and they are from the earth, belong to the earth and talking about the earth and their speech was already spoken or mentioned before they speak.
We are living our life on the earth. This is one time opportunity and today is not rehearsal. Our time is limited. There is no life better than by hearing the words of God through the Scripture. Please use any opportunity to learn the words of God and let us also keep our personal time to face the words in our daily life. Now we can say, you will be blessed, yes indeed because you are given the advice and guidance from the above in your life. Let us pray.

１）私達は普段、家族や友人達とどんなことを話して暮らしていますか。その内容の多くは万国共通だと思いますか。なぜですか？ヨハネ３章３１節ー３６節を読み、特に３１節の『地から出る者は、地に属する者であって、地のことを語る』について考えてみましょう。
２）伝道の書１章６節ー１１節を読みましょう。９節の『先にあったことは、また後にもある、先になされた事は、また後にもなされる』ということは、私達の人生についてどんな思いを抱かせますか。
３）『口にはいってくるものは、みな腹の中にはいり、そして、外に出て行くことを知らないのか』(マタイ １５章１７節）というイエス様の言葉にはどんな真理がかくされていますか（ヒント：入ってくるものしか、出ていかない）。
４）多くの人は聖書は理解するのが難しいと言います。あなたはその原因はなぜだと思いますか。
５）地について語る私達に対してイエス様はご自身についてどう語っていますか（ヨハネ３章３１節、３２節、３４節）。
６）私達が地上のことだけではなく、天来の御言葉に聞き、そこから日々の指針や知恵を得ることができることは私達にとってどんなに大きな恵みでしょうか。あなたは聖書の言葉によって知恵をいただいたり、励まされたり、危機を免れたことがありますか。
７）『人はパンだけで生きるものではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つの言で生きるものである』（マタイ４章４節）という言葉は私達にはどんな意味がありますか。
